More than just eye candy

Rookie attorney Dani Wellford's taciturn client has the strangest request: "Send me to jail." Easy case, right? Wrong, especially as she faces Cam Townsend, the hot assistant DA who's hell-bent on seducing her—and winning the case. The way he wears his suits should be a crime; he gets Dani's mojo going, in the courtroom and the bedroom.

Before long, their professional ethics are more tangled than the bedsheets. But when Dani goes to battle against her firm's old-boy network trying to prove a hefty case of discrimination, she ends up with the most unexpected ally…and perhaps just the right bait for a lifelong sentence.

Who cares about the two, three, maybe five typos I found. They were insignificant *are insignificant* in light of how awesome this quick read is. It was entertaining and Dani was witty ad smart. Her and Cam's ethics were perfect. I love how they show gray is okay because everything is not going to be either black or white every time. And call me weird but am I the only one who fell completely and helplessly in utter intrigue with with Alex's character? Gosh! Tell me more about this guy, please. There is definitely a story there (hint hint, if its not written yet). I'd love to read his story...plz. Based off this story, Take The Bait, I recommend this author to others for sure. I was cheering by the end of the story and ready to read the next one. Great job!

I'm having a really hard time believing that this book was written by one of my favorite authors, Cindy Dees. Character dialogue, motivations, and behaviors seem entirely unrealistic and contradictory. My best guess is that this story is a free prelude to a new series, but there aren't many interesting secondary characters (with one notable exception). I'm truly puzzled and so happy it was a free read.

Reviewed by Kim for Read Your Writes Book Reviews Danielle “Dani” Wellford and Cameron “Cam” Townsend are opposing counsel in a case that should be a slamdunk. Unfortunately, Dani’s client doesn’t want to take the easy way out by agreeing to a plea deal. Alexi Koronov wants to go to prison for a long time. The question becomes why. Dani faces mounting pressure from the partners at the prestigious law firm she work for not to lose the case. After overhearing that the reason the firm hired her was for her looks and so she would sleep with other attorneys, Dani sets out to bring the firm’s actions to light. Too bad it’s not easy going up against the big guys. Now Dani’s heart and career are on the line. The one person who can help Dani is the last person she wants to ask for help.
