Overview

Joey W. Hill’s Vampire Queen novels “keep the pages turning, your imagination running, [and] your dreams carnally vivid” (Bitten by Books). In her newest installment, a servant sentenced to death is sent into hiding and finds a passion she never expected in her new protector…

Groomed from birth to be an Inherited Servant and serve only the most powerful vampire Masters, Alanna never resented her destiny. Then she did the unthinkable: she betrayed her Master to the Vampire Council. Now death is her future, but until her Master is captured, she must be protected. The Vampire Council assigns her to Evan, a vampire whose wandering lifestyle makes him the perfect guardian…

Alanna’s training was for a vampire of power and ambition, not for someone like Evan who lives in mountainside shacks and caves. Even his servant, Niall, is rough mannered. But these two men are about to teach Alanna something her rigorous training never did: how to feel, how to desire…perhaps even how to love.

Then the Council captures her Master, and Alanna has no choice but to accept her destiny. But Evan and Niall are no strangers to defying fate—and they will stop at nothing to make Alanna theirs forever…

    hot Hot HOt HOT!!!!

I loved this book, it was tender when it had to be and almost at time ripped at my heart strings. I loved all the characters in this book. There were ALOT of sexy love scenes, but that's ok, I am a grown up. I would recommend this read. M.M.

    Fantastic! I can't get enough.
From the moment she was born Alanna was to become an Inherited Servant.  An honorable destiny and one she excelled at.  Until the day she betrayed her vow by turning her Master, made vampire Councilman Stephen, into the Council as a traitor (Vampire Trinity - Vampire Queen, #6).  Now the council wants to use her to find her Master and hope they can do it before he destroys her mind body and soul.  To that end they send her on the road with made vampire Evan and his servant Niall.  Being a servant to Evan is total culture shock to Alanna.  She was trained to serve the highest of the high and to make their will her own.  Evan and Niall encourage her to think outside her Masters wishes to think of herself and her wishes.  A totally foreign concept to her.  Alanna knows that when the capture Stephen they will kill him and as his third marked servant she will die with him.  But as she gets to know Evan and Niall she is determined to make the most of her time left and she learns that sometimes servitude can be more than duty.  Now that she is going to die she is just starting to live.
Once again Joey W. Hill takes us into the world of the Vampire Queen.  This story puts you through the ringer.  You run the gamut of emotions from despair to ecstasy and all points in between and ask for more.  I can’t get enough.

A wonderful story, one of Joey's best.

I've read all the Joey Hill books, and this by far is one of my favourites. I thought at first Alanna's story was just going to be a short side story about her betrayal, I couldn't have been more wrong.

This story isn't just about Alanna, but about Evan and Niall as well...and that's what makes this story so great.

I don't want to give anything away about the story line, but trust me, it's fantastic and I'm a picky reader that's hard to please.

You'll need some tissues handy, I did.

10 Stars, if I could give this book 10 stars I would.
Taken by a Vampire is the 9th book in the Vampire Queen series. It is the journey of Alanna, a vampire servant trained almost since birth to serve a vampire and her new Master, Evan and his servant Niall. Alanna's rigid and controlled upbringing as an InhServ doesn't prepare her for service with Evan who is shall we ay a Bohemian Vampire and his 300 year old Scottish servant. Now as to what I thought of the book. ABSOLUTELY, AWESOMELY, FANTASTIC!! Sexy, hot, emotional (yes, ladies and gents, have a box of tissues handy) a beautiful story.

    LOVE THIS SERIES!!

I love the Vampire series by Joey W. Hill!! My only complaint is they don't come out fast enough. The books are romantic, intense and sexually charged. Always a wonderful read and I can't wait for the next one!

I devoured this book, and loved that Alanna got a second chance

I devoured this book, and loved that Alanna got a second chance to have a decent  Master.  I had re-read the Vampire Queen series before reading this, so it was fresh in my mind  how she "betrayed" her original Master.  Her growth from being an Inherited Servant to becoming herself was inspiring to read. I have LOVED each of Joey W. Hill's books that I have read, and re-read, over and over.

If you are looking for descriptive, well chosen words that paint a wonderful picture and make you feel every emotion, then look no further than a Joey W. Hill book.

    Taken by a Vampire,
Alanna’s personal struggle as a trained servant who has been cast out by her class of servants was the focal point of Taken by a Vampire for me. As Alanna struggles to act as a 3rd marked servant to Evan is shocked by Evan’s 3rd marked servant Naill’s lackadaisical way of doing things. Joey W Hill’s Taken by a Vampire tells the story of the characters being forced to change and their personal struggles as they fight and accept the changes necessary for them to become a loving family.
I highly recommend Taken by Vampire and rate it 5 stars out of 5

    OUTSTANDING!!!!

The series keeps getting better and better and better! I especially enjoyed how the characters from previous books in the series were woven into this book. At times the story became so intense it was necessary for me to simply put it down and just breath for a time. Ms. Hill is exceptional at developing and fleshing out her characters, making one almost forget that vampires do not actually exist!

I've always loved this series. Add an old world Scot and it just gets better. I think it starts pretty slow, but ends really hot. Alanna gets on my nerves at times. Evan is completely different from any of the vampires we've met in this series. He isn't into the politics. He's an artist and that is all that is ever really on his mind. Niall is great.

This was an amazing addition to the VQ series. I loved Evan, Nia

This was an amazing addition to the VQ series. I loved Evan, Niall and Alanna. The three main characters developed a complex and beautiful relationship that was fascinating to watch unfold.

[I loved the changes in scene as the relationship(s) grew, from the isolation of the mountain cabin to the intensity of the wedding and after party and on to the protective community of Farida's Sanctuary,to the Council and full circle to the isolation of a mountain cabin. It seemed to me as though that movement through the scenes reflected the movement of the relationships as the developed and deepened and then came back to the core strength that first brought them together.

An excellent book and a wonderful addition to an excellent paranormal series.

    Loved this book !!!!!!!!!!!

    Loved this book !!!!!!!!!!!
I highly recommend this book as well as all of the books in this series. Taken By A Vampire has all the elements that we love about Joey’s Vampire Queen books including sexy and powerful Vampires, very well done erotic scenes, and we get to visit with familiar and loved characters from previous books. Evan, Alanna and Niall stole my heart. While these three had all the tendencies of vampires and servants, their relationship took on a human feel because they cared so deeply for each other. There were some moments in the book where I thought this cannot end well, and I didn’t expect the ending we got, that was a wonderful nice surprise. I hope the publisher has Ms. Hill under contract for more in this series because it has infinite possibilities.
