TAKEN BY LOVE is the first of six Braden cousins, and the newest additions to the BRADEN series by New York Times & USA Today bestselling and award-winning author Melissa Foster.

In TAKEN BY LOVE... Daisy Honey fled Trusty, Colorado, after years of battling rumors sparked by her gorgeous looks and lust-inducing name. Now a physician on the brink of a promising career, she reluctantly returns home when her father is injured in a farming accident. Daisy expects the small-town girls who hurt her in the past to take cheap shots again--but she's completely unprepared for a run-in with tall, dark, and wickedly sexy Luke Braden, the only man who has ever stood up for her--and the man she's never forgotten.

Luke Braden is handsome, wealthy, and the best damn gypsy horse breeder in the Midwest. After a restless youth, he's finally ready to settle down--only connecting with women is nothing like connecting with horses, and he's never met a woman worth the energy. After an arrest in a neighboring town, Luke's past comes back to haunt him, and he realizes that his inability to find love runs deeper than he ever imagined.

A chance encounter sweeps Luke and Daisy into a world of passion. For the first time ever, Luke feels a connection, but Daisy's life in Trusty is anything but permanent, and Luke can't manage a future until he puts his past to rest.

DAISY HONEY JUGGLED a cup of coffee, a cake she’d bought for her mother, a bag of two chocolate-dipped doughnuts—because a girl’s gotta have something sweet in her life, and this was about all the sweetness she had time for at the moment—and her keys.

“You sure you got that, sugar?” Margie Holmes had worked at the Town Diner for as long as Daisy could remember. With her outdated feathered hairstyle and old-fashioned, pink waitress uniform, Margie was as much a landmark in Trusty, Colorado, as the backdrop of the Colorado Mountains and the miles and miles of farms and ranches. Trusty was a far cry from Philly, where Daisy had just completed her medical residency in family practice, and it was the last place she wanted to be.

Daisy glanced at the clock. She had ten minutes to get to work. Work. If she could call working as a temporary doctor at the Trusty Urgent Care Clinic work. She’d worked damn hard to obtain her medical degree with the hopes of leaving the Podunk town behind, but the idea of relocating had been delayed when her father fell off the tractor and injured his back. She’d never turn her back on her family, even if she’d rather be starting her career elsewhere. She supposed it was good timing—if there was such a thing. Daisy had been offered permanent positions in Chicago and New York, and she had four weeks to accept or decline the offers. She hoped by then her father would either have hired someone to manage the farm or decided if he was going to sell—an idea she was having a difficult time stomaching, since the farm had been in her family for generations. Since the closest hospital or family physician was forty-five minutes away and the urgent care clinic picked up the slack in the small town, Daisy was happy to have found temporary employment in her field even if it wasn’t ideal.

“Yeah, I’ve got it. Thanks for the cake, Margie. Mom will love it.” She pushed the door open with her butt—thank you, doughnuts—just as someone tugged it open, causing her to stumble. As if in slow motion, the cake tipped to the side. Daisy slammed her eyes shut to avoid seeing the beautiful triple-layer chocolate-almond cake crash to the ground.

There was no telltale clunk! of the box hitting the floor. She opened one eye and was met with a pair of muscled pecs attached to broad shoulders and six foot something of unadulterated male beefcake oozing pure male sexuality—and he was holding her mother’s cake in one large hand, safe and sound.

She swallowed hard against the sizzling heat radiating off of Luke Braden, one of only two men in Trusty who had ever stood up for her—and the man whose face she pictured on lonely nights. When she’d decided to come back to Trusty, her mind had immediately raced back to Luke. She’d wondered—maybe even hoped—she’d run into him. Residency had been all-consuming and exhausting, with working right through thirty-six-hour shifts. She hadn’t had time to even think about dating, much less had time for actual dating. Her body tingled in places that hadn’t been touched by a man in a very long time.

“I think it’s okay.” With smoldering dark eyes and a wickedly naughty grin, he eyed the cake.

His deep voice shuddered through her. Okay, Daisy. Get ahold of yourself. He might have saved you in high school, but that was eleven years ago. He was no longer the cute boy with long bangs that covered perpetually hungry eyes. No, Luke Braden was anything but a boy, and by the look on his face, he had no recollection of who she was, making the torch she’d carried for him all these years heavy as lead.

“Thank you.” She reached for the cake, and he pulled it just out of reach as his eyes took a slow stroll down her body, which was enough to weaken her knees and wake her up.

Another great book by Melissa. I have to say Luke Braden is my favourite right now, but I still have a lot more of her books to read. I really liked this book. Daisy Honey returns to her hometown, where she was horribly teased and had awful rumors spread about her in high school. She was miserable and could not wait to leave for college and then medical school. Now she is a new doctor and returns home to look after her father, who was recuperating from a fall off the tractor. Daisy takes a temporary job running the urgent care clinic, but soon finds that the patients aren't really in need of urgent care, they are in need of a doctor. Shortly after arriving home, she hooks up with Luke Braden and finds herself falling in love. Luke is the man we all want our daughters (or ourselves) to find. I liked this book because Daisy is a mass of insecurities. She is beautiful, smart, and hasn't recovered from the mean girls who made her life miserable in high school. As she starts to find her power, she begins to heal and it is healing to watch her.

I had a great time reading Taken By Love. It was a story to relate to every day life and any book written by Melissa Foster is always a book to read. Strong characters, both main and secondary ones, love for family and friends all a good thing to have. Recommend this and all books in this series for a great read.

Dr. Daisy Honey, gosh I love her name, is probably my favorite female character in all of Melissa Foster’s Snow Sister Series.   Her sense of home is amazing and something that I could easily relate to.  I stayed close to parents and family, knowing that I needed them as much as they needed me.   When she runs into Luke, again, after going away to college to become a doctor the sparks were so obvious and hot.   The original sparks could be due to her remembering how he protected and stood up for her when she was in high school, but it was quickly obvious that it was so much more than that.    The longer she stays in her home town, Trusty, the more she realizes that the town needs her as much as she needs the town and the security, friendships, and love it offers.    I love Melissa Foster’s style.  She constantly pulls me in making the characters seem more like friends that just characters in a book.  I can picture the towns I visit in her books, along with the people who live in these towns.    As with the rest of this series, I highly recommend it.

4.8 Star Review - Taken By Love After Daisy fled her home town she really never wanted to return. With her father injured she will return. Luke is one man she could never forget. When she runs into him the sparks are gonna fly. Can Luke and Daisy overcome past mistakes and learn to love together? With Daisy not wanting to stay in town is it even with the effort to try? See for yourself. Pick up the story and read Daisy and Luke's story. Melissa knows just what characters to place in a story for you to love. Her stories keep you turning the pages until the very end. Can't wait for the next book that Melissa puts out.

It does not seem like I am finished with reading the fifteenth book in the Love in Bloom Series. Melissa Foster does not make anything drag or become boring and so enjoy every moment of reading her novels. You just can't sit still and wait for the next one to come out. I have read every single book in the series and you can find all the reviews on my accounts. You could easily read some of them as stand alones because they take on their own meaning, but the more you read in the series the more you will know about all of the characters, the background and where they came from and act like they do. All of the characters stories are entangled together throughout all the novels and I really enjoyed this book just as I have all of the others in the series so far. I am so happy that there is more to come. Melissa Foster has really hit it with this series. Daisy's father gets hurt and so she makes her way back home to Trusty, Colorado. For one, adorable names and settings for this novel. It sets the mood for the character of Daisy. She has not had a great experience throughout her life especially in high school so she was not relishing in the fact that she would be going home. She has actually avoided going home ever since she was able to leave. The only one that ever stood behind her was Luke Braden. Okay, swoon moment while I just think about his character. Gush! Moment over. Daisy had big plans to go to New York or Chicago but now she is wondering while she is back in town if she would see Luke. And alas, they run into each other and head out together. They get closer and closer but then know that time is running short to when Daisy would have to leave town. This was a sad moment, but Daisy is a smart girl and she weighs her options of just staying in town to be their doctor. She is torn between big city dreams and the chance to be together with Luke. If I were her the choice would be easy!  Luke was a character that had all the sweetness and charm that you have come to expect from the Bradens. There was so much to like about him and you loved that he worked hard but was a deep and caring soul. Okay, another swoon moment. Luke and Daisy had great chemistry and connection together. Reading their moments that they had together was almost blissful. This was a great new story to be added to the series and with each book I am getting sucked in more deeply. When the series finally ends, I think I may just cry. Can Melissa Foster just right this series until I am old and can't read anymore? Heaven forbid but still.... Romance fans rejoice at another great installment to the Love In Bloom Series by Melissa Foster. If I could rate higher than five stars, I would! Disclosure: I received a copy of this book in exchange for my open and honest opinion. All thoughts are my own.

I really enjoyed this book, a light hearted read that allowed me to escape the football fever gripping the world at the moment! This is the first book I have read by Melissa Foster, and it certainly wont be the last! I am definitely going to have to get some more of these books. This one I would recommend as a beach/swimming pool read on holiday.

I was so happy to learn that Melissa Foster was going to introduce more books to the Love in Bloom series. I loved The Bradens the first time and although this part of the series features the cousins of the original Bradens they are still mentioned or featured in the books. Luke Braden is the youngest of Hal Braden’s sisters children and is one of the main characters in Taken by Love and he is such a lovely man and wonderful character, owning a ranch and loving his horses like they were his children, his other love is the gorgeous Dr Daisy Honey, who has just came back to Trusty as she has just qualified as a doctor in family medicine and her father had a bad fall it is the perfect opportunity while she figures out which job to apply for. That is of course until Luke takes her heart and she realises that the demons she had been facing since a teenager at school should have been left just there and to give people a second chance. Luke was also facing some demons that he needed to quell too. I absolutely loved how this book progressed, and how the characters progressed it all flowed so smoothly.  Love is a beautiful thing and as you read Taken by Love you will notice that it can happen at the most unexpected time. Another great addition to the series, I have been hooked to each and every book and cannot wait for the next one.

I have read a number of romance novels, but never anything by Melissa Foster. On completing Taken by Love I had to ask myself, `What took me so long to discover this author?' I am now compelled to read more of her work. Taken by Love is a beautiful and heartwarming story of love, acceptance and forgiveness. It depicts how being able to forgive and letting go of the hurts of the past lead to greater things in our future. This is an easy read with characters that are lovable and easy to relate to. My favourite is Dr. Honey Davis. She had been through so much as a teenager in the town of Trusty that she was not willing to return after she had completed her medical studies. However, when her dad met with an accident, she returned home all but reluctantly. It was during this time that she found love with no other than her high school crush, Luke Braden. She also was able to move pass the pain of her past and came to the realization that things were not the same as before. Her power to let go of all the pain and hurt equipped her with the ability to achieve her dreams in a town she once hated. The romance between Luke and Honey was believable and sweet. They just complement each other so well. They had a history and I liked how the author built on that in the development of their romance. If you enjoy romance, then you need to get yourself a copy of this book. DISCLOSURE: I received a complimentary copy in exchange for a honest review.

Once again Melissa Foster has written a winner to add to the growing collection of “must-have” books. Taken by Love is the 7th book in the Bradens series, and is just as fabulous as all the others.  Being made fun of in school is never a great memory and once you get away from it, it is the last thing you want to face. Those tormentors all grown up, but that is exactly what Daisy has to do when her father falls victim to an injury. Although, there is always that one hero in the crowd of tormentors-and Daisy’s hero was Luke.  Join Daisy and Luke as they meet up again, the relationship blossoms, and then time begins to run short. What will happen? Will they part again even if their feelings run deep? Will Daisy be able to choose between her new life or returning to her childhood “hell” to start anew? As with all of Melissa’s books there is a warning: {My personal warning} If you are female-you will become obsessively in love with the men of each book. To the point where you begin comparing to your significant other. You will never be the same after reading her books.

FABULOUS!!! Taken by Love by Melissa Foster begins in Colorado with a gal called Daisy Honey who has completed her medical residency. Well, Melissa, you really outdone yourself… it wasn't long for me to try catching my breath. At the diner, Daisy is right in front of Luke Braden, the man who stood by her some time ago. He is tall and handsome with a deep voice.  He is the man Daisy fantasized about and who wouldn't? It seemed all cloudy when Luke was to meet Emily, jealousy takes over Daisy. He had come in the diner because he had hurt himself and needed some first-aid. So who is Emily? She is an architect but enough said on that. Wes Braden walks in the diner. There was some gossip going around that I never thought men engaged in with all the frivolous talk making the story very engaging.  A small town with real people makes the book the perfect avenue for daydreaming. But, as we all know Melissa Foster, there are going to be reasons why they will not be together… maybe. The first one is conflicts. The second one is Daisy’s career. Where will Daisy decide to work is still unknown. Luke wants to know and you, the reader will find out what Daisy and Luke are going through.  A fabulous read. I recommend it. Adriana LG

Like I told someone the other day, I love when I get to read one of Melissa Foster's book. It is my little decadent indulgence. I just can't get enough of her books, including this one Taken by Love the newest group of the Love in Bloom series starring the Braden cousins. The characters are so real (even if everyone is gorgeous). I love that the characters have a maturity about them that you don't always find in other romance novels. They are willing to face and work on their problems and insecurities. As with all of her other books, there is just this connection with the book. There is this great romance aspect to the book,s but also, this demonstration on how we can overcome some of our insecurities. There is this light of positivity that is contagious. I guess that is part of why I like this book and all of her other books. I have struggled with my health for the past few years. I have fibromyalgia, and have chronic pain which can just pull you down. I know when I read one of her books that my spirits will be lifted, and I will be left with a smile on my face. That is exactly what happened with this book. I give this book 5 stars, and a big smiley face. I think people young and old will like Taken by Love. Of course, it is intended for mature audiences due to some adult content. If you get the chance pick up this book and all of her other ones, too. This book can be read as a stand alone book, but I strongly suggest read all of the books. You won't be disappointed. I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.

If you’re looking for a down to earth, small town feel book – look no further. Foster has done it again with this 15th in the series. With authentic characters and love scenes that significantly stay with you long after you turn the last page, Foster has once again written a novel that makes readers truly believe in LOVE and happily ever after! Luke and Daisy are unlikely individuals who rise above their insecurities and stubbornness to prove once and for all that love can both change and mature you all at once. This was a fast-paced, steamy adventure readers will not want to miss. Foster does and excellent job at writing the continuing series just as well as the stand alone story so we are able to connect with the characters whether we are familiar with previous novels or not. I welcome that the characters are not totally absorbed with each other from the very beginning – attracted yes – and I found myself applauding Luke, Daisy and Foster after reaching the final page! ~The Book Stalker Reviewed

That was just too much time between books. I have missed my Love in Bloom series! I loved, loved, loved Taken by Love. I could relate to both Luke and Daisy on so many levels that I knew exactly how each one was feeling. Just like all the other Love in Bloom books, this one did not disappoint and I was happy that some of the former characters were present as well (Hal and Rex were present, and Treat, Max, and their baby were talked about). Luke reminded me a lot of Rex, but was different enough to not make them be too similar. Luke had different skeletons in his closet to deal with and Daisy had hers too. If you enjoy romance or have enjoyed any other Love in Bloom books, I am sure you will enjoy this one too!

Another Great Love Story By Melissa Foster! Dr. Daisy Honey comes home after medical school while deciding on where to start the rest of her life. While home, she's working in the town's urgent care clinic. Daisy has a huge chip on her shoulder from her teenage years and the relentless teasing by her classmates. This made me pause and truly reflect. My oldest son has dealt with teasing (and I did, too, growing up) and I have written about and worked with different anti-bullying campaigns. I try to instill in the tweens and teens I encounter that the "harmless" teasing they do can and will make a difference in the lives of others. While this is a fictional story, there are many adults who have hang-ups and complexes today because of the teasing and bullying they endured decades ago. Ms. Foster does a great job at capturing this concept with Daisy and her experiences coming home after years away. As usual with her novels, the love story between Daisy and Luke is steamy - yet believable and relatable. As they fall in love and face the demons from their past, you find yourself cheering them along throughout their personal journeys. Taken By Love is part of a series but can be read alone as a standalone novel. I will warn you, once you read one you will be ready to read them all! Enjoy!

Do you know what’s better than reading a book and loving the writing? Realizing the author has at least a dozen other books already published. I have found a lot of new authors I love… but established authors, who are good writers, with so many books published just make me happy. SO MANY BOOKS TO READ! While Melissa Foster is quite skilled at writing a believable romance and passionate sex scenes (um… hot) … I found she was equally good at really building a solid character history. The stories of both Daisy and Luke were full and detailed. Foster does an amazing job at bringing her characters to life. I also love that she’s already given us an introduction to Luke’s siblings. VERY smart writing. I immediately have an interest in the rest of the books in “The Bradens Cousins” series since I’m already well aware of Luke’s brothers and sister. Wes, Pierce, Ross, Emily and Jake. AND there were mentions of Luke’s cousins which makes me want to go back and read the first Bradens series. That’s a dozen books Melissa Foster has me adding to my wish list. So if you’re looking for a series to read… you’ve found it. BUT… if you’re just looking for a single book… you’d also have no problem picking up Taken By Love. (Just don’t be surprised if you suddenly find yourself wanting to read all of the books!)

Eleven years have passed since Daisy Honey left Trusty for college.  She is back now because of her father’s accident and the need she has to help him and her mother.  Daisy also needs this time to decide where she will be practicing medicine, Chicago or New York.  She just finished her residency and has been offered several positions that would allow her to do what she had trained to do.  She takes a temporary position at an emergency care facility and can’t wait to leave Trusty behind and the bad memories from her school years. The cruelty of the girls that she went to school with had left deep scars on Daisy’s soul. Only one person had left a lasting impression on Daisy and that was Luke Braden.  His kindness when he rescued her from an abusive guy at party would always stay with her even though Luke was out of her reach. She’d never forget the time in her sophomore year when Luke had stood up for her.  She’d carried a fantasy of him thinking of her for all these years.  Luke was attracted to Daisy and didn’t know what to do about it.  He had never been serious about any woman, always keeping them at a distance.  For the last two years he had focused on his ranch and building up his herd.  He didn’t want his reputation to cause her any problems but even with warnings from his brother Luke could not stay away from Daisy.  She made him feel things that he had never felt before.  He wanted to spend time with her, get to know her likes and dislikes, and what was important to her.  This was all new to him and he didn’t know how to show her that he wanted more with her. “I didn’t know what to say to you, so I tried to make you laugh.  It’s what I do.  I can flirt my way out of any situation, and I’m not proud of it.” … “Okay, maybe a little proud, but…You just said you wanted to get to know me better: Suddenly the truth became hard again, like pushing rocks from his throat.  “You might find that I’m not who you think I am.” The relationship between Daisy and Luke continues to build and yet they both have not been completely open with each other.  Daisy really enjoys being with Luke and wants to be with her so what is keeping them from each other.  Their first kiss is explosive and shakes them both to their cores.  But the past has a way of causing Daisy to revert back to a time when she was a young girl in high school.  Just the wrong words can pull that past into the present and ruin the future. Daisy was aware of how quickly she could spiral from a place of confidence back to the girl fighting a bad rep.  She loathed the power those girls-and the stupid rumors-had on her.  She swallowed against the pain of the past and drew her shoulders back, regaining her confidence.  It felt good to move past those rumors. Luke fears that the demons from his past will keep him from making a future with Daisy.  He wants to know about his father and why he left and never came back.  It is something that will keep him from being the man that Daisy needs him to be.  She says that he is a Hero, a protector and that he is special, but why didn’t his father want to meet him?  Slowly Daisy is looking at Trusty and the past that she had there in a different way.  Would she be willing to stay with him in Trusty and make a life together?  Can she move past what happened and see what is real now?  All Luke could think of was keeping her with him always. But he’d never felt what consumed his body and mind when he kissed Daisy.  The feelings weren’t even definable.  He wanted to kiss her, hold her, protect her, not rush to have sex with her.  He wanted to know what made her sad and what caused that flinch of reservation he’d felt right after she’d kissed his face with so much love. Daisy is needed in Trusty by the residents and by Luke.  She needs to decide if this is where she needs to be, because she knows that she needs to be where ever Luke is.  Luke remembers what his mother told him about love and how you would know it. “…Love will find you when it’s damn good and ready and not a second before or a minute too late – and when it does, you don’t have a chance in hell in getting away.” Overall Rating:  4.5 Rockin Stars! Hero: 4.5 stars Heroine: 4.5 stars Steam: 4.5 stars  Plot: 4.5 stars  Cliffhanger: No Would I recommend this book: Yes! This is a wonderful book that looks at how the past can be overcome with love, trust and time.  If you are looking for a feel good book set in a small farming community then look no more.  The setting, the people and the story of a young woman that finds redemption and love when she comes home and finds her future are all there when you read this book. Would I read other books by this author: Yes! I am a big fan of Ms. Foster and have enjoyed her books about the Braden Family.  Can’t wait to read the next book in the series about Wes Braden. ***Received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review***

This book was a little of a surprise, while I love all of Foster's book ( no worries I love this one too) the surprise came in an about face that a lot of people deal with - Bullying and domestic abuse. I think out of all the books I've read by Foster, this was one that dove deeper into something not easily written about and done so perfectly to make a beautiful story.  Dr. Daisy Honey grew up in Trusty, Colorado the last place she ever wanted to go back too after she'd left. More than happy to keep the past behind her from a town that tore her to pieces Daisy is conflicted when her father gets hurt, forcing her to go back to the dreaded place.  As she's back into town bumping into people is on the bottom of her list, that is until she collides with tall dark and handsome Luke Braden. Someone who had stood up for her as a kid when she was being bullied. While she had been prepared for jabs and pokes from the towns people what she didn't expect was what Luke stirs up more than a rare few fond memories she's had growing up. While she can't deny the connection she has with Luke, there's too many red flags she's not willing to ignore.  Luke Braden has his own past he's trying to forget and he's ready to really set an end to his checked past to settle down. One of the best horse breeders in the Midwest Luke is finding it easier to connect with horses than women, which is a bigger problem than he ever imagined. Until that is he bumps into Daisy. There's a connection he's been waiting for but Daisy has made it very clear her stay in town wasn't going to be permanent. With their past weighting them down Luke and Daisy need to decide if it's worth keeping on too or letting go. Serious decisions must be made and it can go either way for both of them , don't miss another wonderful book by Foster and pick up Taken By Love to find out what happens to Luke and Daisy. You will not be disappointed!
