Meet the Author

My husband says I have the best job in the world. The only thing that could top being paid to do what I love is if Avon Books decided that all their authors had to be hand-fed chocolate by Hugh Jackman, Gerard Butler, or John Cusack. But my husband probably wouldn't think so much of my job then, so instead I'll let him feed me chocolate and go on being forever thankful that I have the best job—and husband—in the world.

    Taken for sure

I loved this book. I could feel the bite on my neck. I have read many books and a wide selection of authors. Smith is a good write who makes you feel the scenes. I loved the story lines, history of characters, and pace in which the entire story moves. I could see her scenes in my mind like a movie and look forward to reading more of her work. I could not put the book down. I started with the first and continued thru the entire series with in 2wks I had them all read and looking for more like them.

    Sexy vampire thriller!

TAKEN BY THE NIGHT is the third installment in USA Today bestselling author Kathryn Smith's Brotherhood of Blood series. It features sexy vampire Saint (who is anything but saintly) and the beautiful Ivy Dearing. ~~~While stopping for what he plans as a brief respite at the London brothel that is a safe refuge for the brothers, Saint encounters Ivy Dearing, the daughter of the infamous Madame, and no stranger to vampires. She asks him to help her in finding the person responsible for brutally murdering two of her friends. While investigating these and more 'Jack the Ripper' type killings, Saint finds it harder and harder to resist the tempting Ivy. She gets under his skin, but will he lose his heart? ~~~Saint and Ivy's story is an utterly compelling and sexy adventure that takes place right at the turn of the century. It puts together a strong, sensual heroine and a dark, confident and incredibly sexy vampire (that Kathryn Smith is a master at writing!). I loved that Saint is no stranger to love and isn't afraid to embrace it again with the right woman. This book is another keeper and has me thoroughly looking forward to the next book in this exciting series!

    a fabulous paranormal Victorian whodunit

For six centuries, Saint has been a vampire who has seen loved ones die. Not willing to feel the pain of loss any longer, he refuses to fall in love ever again.----------- Over the past few years whenever he is in London on business, Saint stays at the Maison Rouge brothel when he is not home. In that time he has watched the madam's daughter Ivy Dearing grow into a beautiful intelligent woman that by 1899 he is attracted to his first in hundreds of years. He helps Ivy with her amateur sleuth investigation into the murders of two Maison women. When more females are killed, Saint who wants to drink Ivy¿s blood and kiss her senseless, knows she could be a target of a dangerous serial killer who may prove more powerful than a vampire in love.--------------- The latest Kathryn Smith historical vampire romance (see BE MINE TONIGHT and NIGHT OF THE HUNTRESS) tale is a fabulous paranormal Victorian whodunit. Readers will feel transferred back to the late nineteenth century as the atmosphere of London seems to take on a life of its own even in a backdrop role. The romance between Ivy and Saint is done in such a manner as to not overwhelm the serial killer subplot nor visa versa. However, the key that makes this tale take over a reader¿s night is Ms. Smith¿s ability to make her cast seem genuine, which in turn means vampires and paranormal killers feel real.------------ Harriet Klausner
