Enjoyed the build-up, it moved along. Characters were compelling - a good rainy day suspense.

I applaud people who take the time to write and put themselves out there but in all honesty this book was not very good. It felt very choppy, and all over the place. The Author never really explained motives, feelings, etc but only touched on them a little. Perhaps I am alone in wanting a well written, well built up book. I never got into the characters and that ending was bad. Thank goodness this book was only .99.

I enjoyed the story, but was put off by all the grammatical errors. It is written little better than a first year English Lit student. I "highlighted" errors until I got tired of that and tried to ignore them.... such things as "watched" he and Mary cross the parking lot". HE? that should be HIM....HE is not the subject of this sentence and it follows a Verb. And where did "hymn hauling" come from? Give me a break! Everyone (or almost everyone) knows that it is "Hem and Haw". This book needed a good proofreader or a different editor. How could such errors pass the Editor's red pencil? All in all, the story was a good one and kept my interest. I might have given it a higher rating if I could have gotten past all the grammatical errors.

This is more a review of the formatting of this book than of the story. I think the story might've been really good, but when Page 1 of the NOOK version plops you (I'm guessing) near the end of Chapter 19 (Chapter 20 starts on Page 17) it's extremely difficult to catch up and get to know the characters. I hate to do Debra Lee a possible disservice by complaining about the formatting but cannot reasonably review the book as I was unable to access the entire book. By about Chapter 22 I'd figured out who had stolen the baby but still think it's probably a decent read .... I think it would have been great to get to know the characters in the first 18+ chapters. The suspense in Chapters 20-end was pretty good!
