Excited to escape her strict father, Harper goes off to college and soon finds herself torn in two as she falls madly in love with both her new boyfriend and her roommate's hot brother. Both would do anything for her, including take a step back, if it would make her happy.

This book broke my heart! From the moment i read the sample it was like I CANT WAIT TO BUY IT!!!! And when i finally did i got to the heart breaking parts fast. Normally i can sense the way a book is gonna happen but honestly this book was unperdictable and spectacular i did nothing but cry, laugh, and get angry. I felt the passion that was put into it and i felt a part of me in Harper with our strong will, likeable personality, and her connection to people that make them wanna protect her!! This book was an unexpected miracle that im forever going to read over and over!!!!

HOLY CRAP!! I am in a state of awe as this book took my heart for a roller coaster ride!! At times, I laughed so hard i almost peed myself, and sometimes I cried until i sobbed. I could not put it down and actually fell asleep reading, just to wake up a few hours later and continue on for a while before work! I can honestly say it is a love triangle like no other!! The chemistry between Harper, Chase and Brandon felt palpable just from reading about it!! You can't help but fall in love with these exceptionally developed characters! One must really be prepared for the shocking twist because it isn't light and totally blindsides you!!

I have never written a review before but i was so mad about what happened to Chase i loved him more than Brandon and he is who Harper should have been with i cryed more at this book than ever before i was still crying after it ended. Im just really mad about Chase it shouldnt have happened to him he was harper's true love i think everything else was awesome i just cant get over the Chase thing how could you do that to him. Why him????????????

This is a 1000+ page book that could have easily been condensed into about a tenth of that. It is the worst book I have read in a long time. It's written as if an unpopular, shy girl was writing her fantasy about being popular and wanted by everyone. It is extremely far fetched and unrealistic. I hope that college-bound girls don't read this and think this is what college will be like. I can't just put a book down, without finishing it, and I really wish I could have with this one. It may be long but it's a very fast read and it will have you rolling your eyes and saying, "Give me a break."

I hated it. It was totally depressing. But it was a good book. I liked the end. But in general the book made me sad. I cried a lot. I really didnt expect what happened to happen. I thought it was going to be just another book like the thousand books i already read just like this one but no it really was a total surprise. :)

In the beginning I thought that this book was very similar to Beautiful Disaster and was looking forward to reading it. Towards the middle I was shocked with the way the story line was turning out and at the end I was skipping pages just to get through it. It started to become tedious and the characters annoyed me. The book was okay but I propably wont re-read it again.

Heart breaking but in a good way! Defitely wish there could have been a happier ending for ALL the characters. Not many books make cry, but this one did and not just tears, but ugly cry. Have your tissue ready, because you won't be expecting it. Not many books interest me enough to read more than once but i have read this one three times, and i think about it when i'm not reading. Good book, will read it AGAIN.

This book was great. It has over a thousand pages and I read it in one day! It is only $1.99. This book should cost way more than that. It is an emotional read and I loved every minute of it!

This book was such an emotional roller coaster ride! At points, it was drawn out more than necessary, but the story line was amazing and the characters well developed. It was great watching the evolution of this love triangle. No spoilers here - but get the tissues ready if you tend to become emotionally involved in the stories you are reading.

If i could give a book a negative rating, it would be this one.  The heroine is a complete idiot! I admit I was addicted to this book in the beginning hoping for Harper and Chase to finally get together and for a future together.  I was extremely angry when the tragic event happens.  This ruined the whole book for me.  I read a few more pages after this and threw the book away.  i would not recommend this book.  If I didn't want to read about happy endings in books, I could watch real life tragedy by turning on the news. I have no plans to purchase any more of books from this author in the future.

Loved the book. I hate the way it ended. Harper drove me crazy and I wanted her to just choose already. It's very emotional but a must read.

When I first read the sample I could not wait get the book. But the story ended up going to places I had not expected it would. I have never been this emotional over a book before. I laughed, I cried, and I could feel the love radiating off the story. This book touched my heart many times. About 40 pages into the book, I had my mind set on who Harper, the main character, should be with. But then, much like Harper, I was torn. Altogether, a great read and worth the cost! Some mistakes in the writing but a beautiful and entertaining story! Highly recommend it, though.

I recently read Forgiving Lies and Disceiving Lies by Molly McAdams and LOVED LOVED LOVED those books so I decided to read this book in hopes of another great romance. I am soo disappointed. This book had the potenial to be another great love story with a "Kash-like character" (Chase), but the crazy author killed him off and before his body was cold Harper was back in Brandon's arms!! Then in this messed up story Chase's family is okay with Harper giving Chase's son Brandon's surname, while they all seem to move on from Chase's death so quickly. I was disgusted by Harper's actions and never could "like" Brandon. I am now hesitant to buy another book by this author.

At first I wanted to say this book was just barely OK. Then I thought perhaps it was geared to a younger audience because it was a little on the immature side. When I first started reading and saw it was over 1000 pages, I thought great. I love long books that give time to see the characters grow and evolve. This was not the case for this story. I think it could have all been told in alot less pages. Plus I never did warm up to the main character in the story. All in all I think it was just a little silly for me. But the fact that I did manage to finish the book, I give it 3 stars.

I read this book on a recommendation from a friend. If I would've even known the story line I would have passed on it...if u ask me it's pretty sick. I don't even know how I finished the book I literally was outraged & emotionally drained. Definitely will not be reading the next book.

2.5 Stars ~Reviewed by FRANCESCA & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog TAKING CHANCES had all the making for a really good story. I could’ve even dealt with the naive to the extreme heroine. But I have to be honest…cheating is not one of my favorite things in romance books and very few authors had made me not care that it’s happened or think that it was necessary for the story. For the most part, I find it annoying and just plain disrespectful. For all involved and usually for the heroine herself. So meet Harper. She’s an 18 year old going off to college. First time she’ll be on her own out of her military father’s watchful eye. She seems to have been a bit sheltered growing up in that she doesn’t know much about the real world. Whether it relates to boys, friends or even clothes. Her best friends growing up where the guys her father trained. Now she makes a good friend in her roommate who easily pushes her into situations she thought she didn’t want to be in. And she meets Chase. Typical bad boy, player, hot as sin. And it’s instant love and attraction for them both. Him being the bad boy she knows him to be, she stays away. But really they can’t stay away from each other at all. Then she meets Brandon. What I would consider the bad guy in disguise. He’s got a promising career ahead of him, he’s respectful and caring. A gentleman. But he’s got a bit of a dark side to him as well. And yes, the love triangle begins! I was mad at Harper a lot. I felt like as naive as she was, she really had no common sense to tell her that what she was doing was stringing two really good guys along. And hurting all of their feelings! She kept saying how she didn’t want to hurt Brandon, but in the process was breaking Chase down without a care in the world. She didn’t want to hurt Chase, but her decisions and her actions said otherwise. Basically I felt like she wanted to have her cake and eat it too. I had to draw the line when a third guy was thrown in the picture. This was over the top and bothered me. I think this would’ve been better left at friends without adding to the already existing drama. Frankly, I couldn’t see what all these 3 guys were dying to get. Harper was not all that special in my eyes. I loved Chase though. If I could take Chase out of this book and keep him in my pocket just to bring out when I need a dose of sexy, then I totally would. Heartbreak lays ahead in this story. Although I can’t say that I didn’t see something like this happening based on what I had read online (and yes, I stayed away from spoilers). But when it did happen, I was more than annoyed with the events prior that I didn’t let it sink in the way it should’ve. Am I completely satisfied with the ending? Not really. I’m Team the other guy. I sound just a bit bitter huh? It’s a bittersweet ending, what can I say? *Review copy provided by publisher
