Kate DiCamillo's literary classic about Despereaux Tilling has enchanted children and adults around the globe. In this tale of bravery, forgiveness and redemption, one small creature teaches a kingdom that it takes only a little light to show the truth: What you look like doesn't equal what you are. Published in 23 languages, with more than 2 million copies in print, a New York Times #1 bestseller and winner of the Newbery Medal, The Tale of Despereaux is now animated adventure from Universal Pictures.

    Tale of Despereaux

I bought this book for my grandson, and he loved it. He said he wants more books about the little mouse. This book made him happy so it made me happy. Great story for young readers.

    More Understandable Than the Movie

If you are taking children under 12 to this movie, or renting it for them, I would recommend that they read this first. If not, it is a welcome explanation for later. The storyline is very clear, and understandable, for young readers, and the characters are sympathetic. Great pictures capture the magic of the movie.
