Overview

A big talent competition in Las Vegas brings in participants from all over the United States. Millions of dollars and a huge contract is the prize for that one act that will headline on the Vegas Strip in one of the casino showrooms. Someone wants to stop the show, but do they want it bad enough to murder people? Or a judge? Jim goes in search of the killer as Penny becomes a celebrity judge for the contest. Will her life be in danger or will Jim prevent the killing before there are no more competitors? On the side, Trapper must find out why his lady friend, Samantha, is being accused of killing a past client of her former escort service. All in a days work for the Richards Investigation and Security firm, and more fun for Jim and Penny in this 23rd book of the series.

I have read the series from the beginning. Apparently Bob Moats does listen to the reviewers. His earlier books were very poorly edited with tons of typos, missing or duplicate words, transposed words, wrong verb tense and just downright poor sentence structure. This last 2 books have a new editor and it really shows. It is such a pleasure to be able to just read the story through without being interrupted by all those previously described errors. The series itself has very likeable characters that compel you to keep reading just to see how their lives progress. The actual mysteries in some of the earlier books , especially the Area 51 Murders, were unrealistic and contained inaccurate quotes from movies, etc. However, the later stories are much improved either due to Mr. Moats doing better research and/or the new editor. They are more realistic and believable. I plan to continue reading the series.

If u want to perform choose a result that nobody has performed in yet. No doing things people have already done. Good luck.

Good character development and storyline. Fewer problems with grammatical errors in this book.

Jim, the senior slueth, once again had to protect Penny from a murderer. I didn't want to pit this one down and I read Bob's last three books in five days!
