Pennsylvania. The groundbreaking dystopian vision Hugh Howey called “a brilliant tale of extra-planetary colonization.” Now you can revisit USA Today Bestselling Author Michael Bunker’s unique world in this anthology of original short stories—authored by ten of his fellow master storytellers and including a new Pennsylvania story by the creator of the Pennsylvania World himself.

In Tales from Pennsylvania, Transport’s ever-growing desire for complete control forges new heroes as imagined by today’s leading voices in speculative fiction. You’ll meet an Amish family torn between their commitment to pacifism and impossible choices to preserve their way of life. A hacker named Gordian, who’s far too good at what she does for the Authority’s taste. A former stripper and her club-owner husband, who must learn to fit into Plain society or lose their lives. A young girl, lost in the winter cold and at the mercy of the Wild Ones. A scavenger on the Great Shelf, who befriends a woman he’d only intended to rob. A young Native American girl forced to undertake a journey in time. These adventures and more await you inside this collection.

If you liked Michael Bunker's Pennsylvania, you’ll come to love these new heroes. Their tales are heartbreaking. They’re exhilarating. They’re unforgettable

Eleven excellent tales of Amish science fiction imaginatively expanding upon the world of Michael Bunker's Pennsylvania! Anyone who has read Michael Bunker's most definitive work to date, the Pennsylvania Omnibus, will discover a unique blend of science fiction and Amish culture. Amish Sci-fi is now a genre in and of itself and the world created in Pennsylvania presents a fascinating combination of the two. Chronicling a war between two warring factions, the ruling Transport Authority vs. the TRACE rebels with the Amish caught in the middle, there is so much more than just this conflict going on here. With such a sweeping story, there are bound to be little things that you get a glimpse of that you want to know more about. This anthology is all about fleshing out those concepts, giving them life and exploring how there are a wide variety of fascinating stories to be told in this world. Eleven stories from some top-notch indie authors are here for your enjoyment: All of these stories feature Amish culture to one degree or another and some take a deeper dive into it than others. Some of the authors also use characters from the original Pennsylvania novel to help tell their tales, while others feature new characters that are just as interesting and have a great adventure to share. The beauty of the world established in Pennsylvania is that it lends itself to tell many different stories of breadth and depth, with a rich cultural heritage to draw from in addition to some of the best elements of science fiction. It lends itself to very personal stories as well as sweeping sagas between two warring factions as well. As evidenced here, all of that imagination, originality and talent is on full display in this anthology. It was a real pleasure to read beginning to end. :)
