I found Zanes discricptions of tackle and methods of his time very interesting to compare with todays tackle and methods. Zane's dicription of fearce competion between sport fishermen make for good fish storys.

Reading of Zane Grey's fishing exploits in the early 1900's, you not only feel the excitement but you are a witness to one on the pioneers of light line and big game fishing as well as a proponent of catch and release in a time when it was kill for the sake of glory.
