Tales of Mystery and Imagination (The Collector's Library)

( 67 )

Overview

This collection of Poe's work contains some of the most exciting and haunting stories ever written. They range from the poetic to the mysterious to the darkly comic, yet all possess the genius for the grotesque that defines Poe's writing. They are peopled with neurotics and social outcasts, obsessed with unknown terrors or preoccupied with seemingly insoluble mysteries. The Tell-Tale Heart and The Fall of the House of Usher are key works in the horror canon, while in The Mystery of Marie Roget we find the origins...

Collectively, these tales represent the best of Edgar Allan Poe's prose work before his premature death in 1849.

    more from this reviewer

The stories are wonderful, the OCR'ed formatting, not so much.

The stories are wonderful, the OCR'ed formatting, not so much. It's readable, but just barely so. There are lots of odd characters populating the pages, so you kind of have to get used to ignoring stuff and translating some other stuff. But, the stories themselves are top notch classics. Rating reduced due to eBook formatting, not content of the writing.

    Some unreadable passages

Buy the full version it is definatly worth it to read and understand the wonderful works of Poe. This particular volume is somewhat readable but includes instances of complete gibberish

    Terrible; don't waste your money

Cannot read this thing due to all of the typing errors and crazy symbols. Looks like it was typed by a three year old. Impossible to read and make any sense out of it
