If you are interested in Japan and/or the martial arts this book is for you. It is written just as Japan was opening up its culture to the Western world. The first hand accounts are extraordinary, from the story of the 47 Ronin to an actual live witnessing of Seppuku (Japanese ritual suicide). This book needs to be in your collection if you are intersted in Japan.

One of the oldest, and best books ever written in English about Japan.
