Overview

We've all read about alien invasions where they smash all resistance, use us for food, take our resources without paying, or have some other nefarious plan for us. But what if they were merchants who were colonizing us just like Europeans colonized much of Africa and Asia. What if the reason they imposed slavery on one of our genders was due to their physiology and taboos and had nothing to do with being inherently evil? What if they didn't care if our resistance fighters killed some of their comrades? What if they had no concept of revenge? What if all they cared about was their profit and loss statement? What if they were required by their laws to pay us for what they took or harvested? What if they just wanted for everyone to get along? Provided we obey a few simple rules.

It takes a little while to get into the story, but I found the beginning intriguing enough to continue. I'll most likely buy at least one of the other Tales. The cover refers to something that goes on in the story which is set in the present day. The Ragoon are an alien race that have taken over the Earth. They have a very different set of values and ideas about how things should be run. Kate is a teen that just went out to a movie. Girls are "owned" according to the Ragoon, so this wasn't such a great idea. She ends up being given to a movie star that also has gotten into trouble. and so the story begins. For free it is a real bargain and a full length book.
