Talk on Corners [Special Edition 12 Tracks]

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Jose F. Promis
After mounting U.S. interest, photogenic Irish pop group the Corrs took their highly successful international hit album Talk on Corners and issued a special edition. This version featured more dance-oriented remixes of several key tracks, reworked by some of Europe's hottest DJs. "What Can I Do" is transformed into a medium-paced, hip-hop-laced chestnut courtesy of Tin Tin Out, who also reworks the ballad "Runaway," an earlier hit from Forgiven, Not Forgotten, also included here. K-Klass reworks "So Young" (without really venturing into dance territory), and legendary house maestro Todd Terry retools their icy cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams," recalling his ...

K-Klass reworks "So Young" (without really venturing into dance territory), and legendary house maestro Todd Terry retools their icy cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams," recalling his career-defining remix of Everything But the Girl's "Missing." "Don't Say You Love Me," "Love Gives Love Takes," and "Intimacy," all which appear on the original version of Talk on Corners, are not included here. Those who favor the more straightforward, Celtic-sounding Corrs should go with the original album. More pop- and dance-oriented fans, especially those concerned with the hits, would probably find this set more appealing. Also included are the highlights "I Never Loved You Anyway," "Only When I Sleep," their excellent take on Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing," and the irresistible instrumental "Paddy McCarthy." However, this edition of the album did not translate into massive U.S. success -- their next album, In Blue, fared a little better.

    This album leaves me 'Breathless!'

I love this album! It's wonderful. A brilliant combination of Irish Celtic Pop. Any CD related to the Corrs are worth buying. They seem to know how to express their songs and feeling so vividly, you feel the wonderful atmosphere. To keep things short and sweet, their songs cannot be described in detail. They're too good.

    This is a GREAT CD!!

I saw the Corrs on Saturday Night Live and they really caught my attention. I knew that I had to get their CD. When I listened to the whole CD I was blown away by how much talent they have. I loved the way they mixed Irish and pop music together because they created a wonderful sound. This CD has to be the best CD I have ever bought and the money I paid for it was definitly worth it! I recommend everyone to buy this CD!

    Corr!

This is an amazing album. It's probably the best I've ever bought, and it's great value for money on bn.com! There is an excellent mixture of fast upbeat tracks to get you bopping, with slow soulful songs so you can play it whatever your mood. This is the works of truly talented people. Buy it, you'll love it!

    From a 30 something

I first saw the group on a broadcast performance of Live at the Royal Prince Albert hall and imediately had to get their music. I am also waiting/hunting for a DVD of that first performance I saw.

    Great Band

I first heard the Corrs on Saturday Night Live's St. Patty's Days special. I must tell you being a punk/hard rocker fan I was supprised that I liked it, It has a great mix of Irish Folk music and contemporary. I especially like the instrumental solos. I recomend this album to all those who love great music.
