Smith and McDonagh, who run a popular catering business in Chicago, were the first winners of The Next Food Network Star, which led to their own television show, Party Line with the Hearty Boys. Their first cookbook includes more than 100 recipes for entertaining, from hors d'oeuvres to "libations," along with lots of helpful tips and amusing anecdotes about their experiences in the catering trade.
