    This book kept me laughing.

    My Review:
When you are in the mood for a bit of small-town cowboy loving, this is a great choice. This book was entertaining and fun to read. Lacey is running. It turns out her ex-husband was a crook with friends in high places. Now that friends think that she's the key to keeping them all from going to jail with them. By threatening her, maybe they can stay safe. So Lacey runs to the one place where she thinks no one from Tennessee will look for her...Wyoming and the boy that she left behind when she got married.

They were never in a relationship, but that doesn't mean that Chase's heart wasn't broken when, 3 days after they graduated, Lacey ran off and got married. To add fuel to the fire, her husband was responsible for the loss of his family's ranch and his father's suicide. So when Lacey comes looking to him for help, he's not exactly inclined to give it to her.

Chase has had a lot of years to build up his bitterness towards Lacey and life in general. I liked watching his personal growth throughout this novel as he realized where he is heading...towards become a bitter old man all alone like his neighbor Galt. Galt added so much depth to this story. I loved his gruff and cantankerous manners even at the end. I also really liked the addition of Pam (Chase's sister) and Cody (Pam's boyfriend) and what they added to the story.

It's just a great story. There were moments when I was literally laughing out loud and moments where it was just so sweet. Overall, just a fantastic contemporary read!

    Great Read

Searching for a romance containing a hot cowboy, a saucy heroine, and enough tension to keep you turning the pages? Look no further. Joanne Kennedy's Tall, Dark, and Cowboy is all that and then some.

When the novel begins, you are introduced to the heroine, Lacey Bradford; an ex-trophy wife who's been spoiled her entire life. It's taken a bad divorce and a healthy dose of fear to send her back home to the one man she has always been able to count on. Unfortunately, things have changed. The boy she once knew has grown, becoming a sexy cowboy she can't stop thinking about. Enter Chase Caldwell, an endearing yet determined man who has loved, lost, and finally started rebuilding his life. When Lacey reappears, he's at war with his feelings. He wants to love her, yet he can't help but resent her. Knowing she needs his help, he reluctantly agrees to do what he can to aid the woman he's dreamed about for years.

Tall, Dark, and Cowboy is a lighthearted, fun-loving, cowboy romp. Lacey and Chase play off of each other beautifully. When he's snappy, she has a snarky retort to set him on his heels. These scenes are the true treasure of the book. When their chemistry overtakes them, the pages start to sizzle. Each encounter is better than the one before, leaving the reader anxious to learn what happens next. Can Chase overcome his past? Will Lacey realize that she could lose everything in her determination to stand on her own?

One minor complaint: Lacey's constant reminder to the reader that she's an ex-trophy wife. After several mentions, the information became redundant. It's established early on that she's lived off her husband's money and is established as a young, beautiful wife worthy of envy. However, this is a very small issue that doesn't hamper the overall enjoyment of the story. Once the reader settles in and falls in love with Chase, who is absolutely swoon-worthy, it's impossible to think about anything else. The writing is sharp, the dialogue is witty, and the pace is perfect.

A definite must read for romance readers who love cowboys, be sure not to miss Tall, Dark, and Cowboy.

    Loved It

What is better than coming home and re-finding the true love of your life … NOTHING, especially if that love is one seriously hot cowboy. But what happens when that one special love is no longer the type to follow you around or hang on every word you say. Not to mention he is no longer the non-hot kind; in fact he is super yummy (in that stunning way that just Joanne Kennedy can write them). Lacey is on the run from her crooked ex and his murderous business partners.

All she has going for her is the hope that her former love and friend Chase will help her get through it. So begins the action and passion-packed story of riveting romance and a second chance love like no other.

Joanne Kennedy has a way with words and cowboys. She intertwines the lives of Chase and Lacey so strongly that it felt as if I was emotionally connected to the book and actually living the life of Lacey.

This was the third Joanne Kennedy book for me and again I was not disappointed. There was not one dull moment, not one moment that it got uninteresting or too overwritten. I especially loved how the author brought the past of Lacey and Chase into focus with the criminal background.

I look forward to the next one Joanne!
