It is centered around a sea Merchant and an landowner,who have been friends since childhood,Portia Tofton and Mateo Cardea. Their fathers wanted them to marry but Mateo wanted none of it,because he loved the sea. So Portia married someone else who dies and leaves her in dare straits. In the process of losing her beautiful property,in order to save her previous land,Portia must ask Mateo's help. His father has left the family business to Portia on his death instead of Mateo,so he agrees to help her in turn for his legacy back. Follow Portia and Mateo on their journey to try and save both their legacys and learn what true love really is and their father's secret. Two people with fears,secrets,past hurts that fine love,and healing.They struggle with their fears,passion,and love. They search for the person,they believe can keep them from losing their legacy or so they think. A fast paced story. Mateo has a hardened heart but Portia can and will soften,open his heart and close his past wounds. A wonderful story that will leave you breathless as these two people finds happiness and peace. So romantic! Two people with real feelings, but it seems impossible to be together. Until they decide that what they thought they had to have was not so important once they found real love.
