Fantastic Book for Beginners and Experts

I bought this book as a birthday present for a friend that had tried to make tamales a few months earlier and didn't quite get it right. This book showed the secrets and made it VERY easy. It also showed cultural variations plus dietary variations like vegetarian, vegan, and dairyless. It even included desert tamales! It is beautifully illustrated and easy to read. If you want to learn how to make your own delicious tamales this is the only book you need to buy.

    Step by step instructions!

This book starts with an easy outline of 10 steps and a list of essential and optional tamale-making equipment. With clear verbal directions and excellent illustrations on how to roll the tamales, even a beginner can make tamales that actually look like the mouth-watering pictures in the book! The fluffy masa and numerous combinations really invite your imagination to personalize your tamales. Time-honored traditional recipes are also included, so it is a well-rounded and very useful cookbook.
