So, I'll start off by saying I did not think I would be into the whole Operative-secret mission thing, but I loved Larissa Ione's Demonica series and liked that there was a paranormal aspect to this series and thought I'd give it a try. I am sold, I absolutely loved not only this book, but the series. In this story there is some BSDM play that touches on the deeper reasons the lifestyle is chosen as well as being descriptive. It was informative in a way, as well as making me blush a little (and I don't blush easily:)Taming the Fire brings back the characters that were met in the previous stories of the series and actually involves three different love stories. While the story is unique, it has the ultimate love, forgiveness, understanding themes.... along with incredibly hot sex.....seriously steaming....a lot of it! I do think that the whole ACRO series is best enjoyed when read in order, since their special skills as well as relationships play into it. These two authors work so well together....I'd love to see their brainstorming, LOL.

Trance is on a mission to bring Ulrika (Rik), a wolf shapeshifter, into the fold at ACRO. Rik, who is on the run from Itor after an escape, still wears an Itor collar that helps Itor operatives keep track of her and also gives them the ability to "blow her head off" with a simple push of a button! Can you say "heart beating fast"?
Trance and Rik meet in a bondage club as Trance is a dom in his personal life. Rik is a domme herself. You'll love reading about who comes out on top! Two alphas working things out makes for a great story!
And, there are also the secondary characters storylines. It does not disappoint either, although I won't go into it here so as not to ruin it!
This series has been outstanding and Taming the Fire kept me simmering...

I am a huge paranormal romance fan. I am no otude but parts of this book made me really uncomforatable. I didn't feel like the plot and the BSDM stuff meshed...It felt more like porn...you know sex without a plot?

Unlike some of the more erotic books out there the story was a good read and the sex was not the only thing that kept you reading. I have to say though that if you are uncomfortable with extensive love scence or skip over them in books you read then dont buy this book because that takes up half the pages. And this author also has another couple of books in this series that look really promising. If you are in to erotic paranormal romance I would definitely choose this novel.

The latest in this series was a little disappointing. I've liked the collaboration from these two authors as Sydney Croft but Taming the Fire read more like a filler then a real installment.

He understands she distrusts anyone ever since she was snatched as a child from her tribe of therianthropes who believe they are beasts in human flesh and changed by those who abused her. He also knows the importance of his mission as she is a danger to herself and others.-------------
In London Trance visits an underground club notorious for extreme sex. However, he never expected to fall in love with her while seeing her vulnerability that she hides behind a wall of hostility. As they battle for domination, one must become submissive, but both have savage beasts raging inside while Itor is coming to retake what they insist is theirs.-----------------
The exciting "stormy' adventures of the ACRO agents continue as Trance and Rik battle for sexual supremacy in an exhilarating entry. Filled with BDSM, the story line focuses on the changing relationship between Trance and Rik while their common enemies stalk them. Although the plot references past tales and includes leads from them that will be difficult for new readers to follow, fans of the ACRO saga will enjoy TAMING THE FIRE as it burns you.-------------
