"Look out, world! There's a new cowboy in town."—CAROLYN BROWN, NY Times Bestselling Author for Tangled in Texas

It took 32 seconds to end his career.
But it only took 1 to change his life.

Thirty-two seconds. That's how long it took for Delon Sanchez's life to end. One minute he was the best bronc rider in the Panhandle and the next he was nothing. Knee shattered, future in question, all he can do is pull together the pieces...and wonder what cruel trick of fate has thrown him into the path of his ex, the oh-so-perfect Tori Patterson.

Tori's come home after her husband's death, intent on escaping the public eye. It's just her luck that Delon limps into her physical therapy office, desperate for help. All hard-packed muscle and dark-eyed temptation, he's never been anything but a bad idea. And yet, seeing him again, Tori can't remember what made her choose foolish pride over love...or why, with this second, final chance to right old wrongs, the smartest choice would be to run from this gorgeous rodeo boy as fast as her boots can take her.

Dell’s second Texas Rodeo contemporary (after Reckless in Texas) vividly depicts rodeo life as well as passionate romance. Tori Patterson has returned to the Texas Panhandle to work as a physical therapist after the untimely death of her husband, Willy. She is surprised when one of her patients is Delon Sanchez, a former rodeo rider to whom she lost her heart years ago. Their professional interactions are colored by sizzling attraction and the pain of what might have been. As Tori tries to move on with her life and start anew after her husband’s tragic death, she learns how to become a better rodeo roper, and she and Delon embark on a friendship. But Tori, a politician’s daughter, wants to stay out of the limelight, and Delon isn’t sure she’d be willing to take a chance on a relationship with him. The complexity of their relationship is realistic and believable. Dell expertly combines romance with authentic details of rodeo riding in this page-turning novel. Agent: Holly Root, Waxman Leavell Literary. (Feb.)

A pro bronc rider gets a second chance with the woman he once lost to his own stubborn pride.Western romances haven't gotten a lot of attention in the last few years, but Dell's Texas Rodeo series may change that. In this second installment, Dell (Reckless in Texas, 2016), herself a rancher and rodeo competitor, portrays the setting of the Texas Panhandle and the culture of pro rodeo with brilliantly natural detail. This is a second-chance romance, as Delon Sanchez returns home from the pro bull riding circuit after a devastating knee injury only to find his new physical therapist is an old girlfriend. Victoria, the daughter of a U.S. senator, is attempting to restart her life after leaving Wyoming, where her husband died in a tragic accident. Victoria's life away from Texas helped her shed her "Panhandle Princess" persona and mature into a stronger and wiser, if more cautious, woman. Delon is struggling to cope with the possible end of his career: "they should have drawn a chalk outline in the arena where he'd fallen, because the man who'd climbed down into the bucking chute that night was nowhere to be found." Unfortunately, though the two have a solid friendship to match their still-sizzling attraction, Delon in particular hasn't learned how to commit. As Tori puts it, " 'Together?' She snorted. ‘Funny. It feels more like I'm sitting in one place again while you circle around, making sure you never get close enough to get burned.' " Tori has her own issues related to her husband's death and the burden of her family's fame; she's a remarkable heroine who deserves a hero to match. Still, while readers may tire of Delon's immaturity, the payoff when he finally wakes up is achingly sweet. Dell's ability to immerse her readers in the world of rodeo, coupled with her stellar writing, makes this a contemporary Western not to miss.

2.5 stars I am always looking for sorbet, so when I saw this synopsis I was sold on the idea of a rekindled romance. The cowboy part was a bonus. I liked Tori and Delon well enough. They're both a little head shy and a lot stubborn. There's a lot of history between them and it took a really long time to work it out. There's a pretty large cast of characters here, but the stand out was Shawnee. I would seriously read a book of hers. The writing was a bit dense and it seemed to get a little repetitive. There was a lot of miscommunication and that drives me crazy. Eventually I just stopped caring about Tori's roping or Delon getting back on a horse. I wanted more of them talking and more sweetness between them. Overall, I enjoyed parts of it, but not everything. I am mildly interested in future books, but it would depend on who it focused on. **Huge thanks to Sourcebooks and NetGalley for providing the arc free of charge**

The biggest risk in life is heeding the heart's call. Pride tore them apart years ago, can loss bring them full circle? Tangled In Texas reads like a country song. The road of broken hearts and shattered dreams leads right to a second chance for lovebirds Deion and Tori. If the egos and pain of the past don't terminate any chance they have at a future. Will they take the chance? I volunteered to read a copy of Tangled in Texas in exchange for an honest review. This is my second time reading a Kari Lynn Dell romance and I am swept away by her display of sentiment and hope in her deeply emotive stories. She balances it out with a little light humor and how can a heart walk away from such sweet tales.
