ARE THEY FIT TO BE TIED?

Ever since Dylan Stone beat Veronica Chasen out of a prime position at the Cleveland Courier, they’ve been bitter rivals, engaging in a very public war of words in their competing newspaper columns. They routinely challenge each other to go bungee jumping, white water rafting, or into tattoo parlors to see who will wimp out first. But Veronica’s latest taunt may be Dylan’s toughest assignment yet: She dares him to learn to knit.

OR WILL DESIRE UNRAVEL THEM BOTH?

Dylan is not going to let something his grandmother can do scare him off. He’s man enough to make a scarf—and attend Veronica’s weekly knitting circle. But when the infuriatingly handsome Dylan shows up at the craft shop and charms all the ladies, Veronica starts to get all knotted up in something that feels a lot like love…

    Grat book, bad end

Cute book with great main characters and nice dose of steamy sex. I would have given this 4 stars if it wasn't for the ending.

    An enjoyable whimsical contemporary romance

Over a year ago, Dylan Stone was selected as the Cleveland Herald columnist beating rival Veronica Chasen for the position. Ronnie is not a good loser as she takes a columnist position at the lesser read Cleveland Sentinel. They begin a weekly challenge of dares in which each claims their gender¿s superiority. She has played ice hockey goalie and bungee jumped while he leaped out of a plane in spite of his fear of heights; neither will surrender the contest although she has won from him his prize possession the Harrison Award trophy.

However, her latest challenge may prove the toughest yet even more than her tattoo on her butt. She dares Dylan to knit a polished item within a month. Dylan tries self help manuals but fails. He visits the Knit Wits club at the Yarn Barn run by Ronnie¿s Aunt Charlotte Langan who agrees to give him knitting lessons; which she ironically turns him over to her niece. Dylan offers Ronnie $1000 to teach him; so she wins either way. Charlotte knows the two obstinate adversaries are attracted to one another; so she brings down her grandmother¿s ¿magical¿ spinning wheel to knit the knot of love one stitch at a time.

TANGLED UP IN LOVE is an enjoyable whimsical contemporary romance starring two rivals whose attraction begins with the butt as he grows stiff admiring hers and she thinks he is Mr. Jackass. Fans will enjoy this lighthearted romp while wondering whether Charlotte¿s spinning wheel worked its magical spell as she believes or just being together outside The Penalty Box gave love the opportunity to knit two people into one relationship.

Harriet Klausner

    I Also Recommend:

    Loved It

I am an avid romance reader and that makes it difficult to find new authors and books that i love. I stumbled upon Betts' book and am delighted that i had. It was the epitome of contemporary romance, exactly the type of book i was looking to read. It is funny and charming, causing me to laugh and identify with the characters. Its an awesome read, i would 100% recommend this book. However note this is the first book in the trilogy (I had to do a Google search to make sure!).

    Dumb and Disappointing

This book had a great premise with the competition between Veronica and Dylan but that was all covered and done with in the first chapter. After that, the overly obnoxious girl talk during the knitting circles and bouts of drinking made me cringe; it goes without saying that the "thirteen" orgasms in one night...GET REAL, and the way Veronica and Dylan fell for each other or better yet fell all over each other was a bit unrealistic. I love a good love story with lots of romance and sexual tension. This one did NOT deliver. The characters were not intriguing and the sex was actually boring because once it started, it never stopped. I'm a knitter and a have great appreciation for the art and I have to say, the women in this story made me want to poke my eyes out with my own needles!

Get Tangled up with a book - read TANGLED UP IN LOVE

For months, Veronica "Ronnie" Chasen and Dylan Stone have engaged in a war of words.and challenges via their respective newspaper columns. Each time, they have risen to each other's dare, even as the stakes have gone up. Tattoos and bungee jumping aren't anything for Ronnie, but in her challenges for him, he's also proven to be a worthy adversary, such as him waxing his legs. Now, Ronnie has goaded Dylan into knitting. Will Dylan rise to the challenge, or finally admit his defeat? Well, what if he shows up at Ronnie's weekly knitting club meeting and asks someone to show him how to knit? And just suppose who that person he asks is.

Dylan has to admit Ronnie is attractive. Her icy personality should leave him cold; instead it makes him hotter than the desert sun. He's also not afraid of challenges, and for her latest, he decides to go to the source.with an offer to pay Ronnie to teach him how to knit. Ronnie, who grew up in a family barely hanging by a thread financially, feels compelled to take the money. She figures he won't last a week before giving up, but she'll have the money. Training sessions turn into late nights spent together. Dylan and Ronnie soon learn more about each other..which leads to more than knitting.

But can two adversaries have any kind of future together? What will happen at the end of the thirty day challenge?

Heidi Betts has penned a humorous, entertaining tale in TANGLED UP IN LOVE that will knock you off your feet. Beneath Ronnie's icy exterior lies an uncertain woman. She doesn't feel financially secure or ready for a relationship. Dylan irks her to no end with his chauvinistic attitude. Women can do as well as any man! Their battle of the sexes will remind readers of classic Hepburn vs. Tracy movies. These exchanges provide for several funny moments, but once they bridge the "getting to know each other" barrier, then their relationship takes a sensual turn. Get out the ice cold drinks, readers, for Ronnie and Dylan burn the pages!

Dylan is a guy's guy and hangs out with his buddies, Gage and Zack. It's up to Dylan to save the male face by besting Ronnie, but of course, the guys do have to rib him about knitting. For his part, Dylan does try to make the moves on Ronnie, but what started out as a "can I thaw her icy exterior" became a man wondering how he could keep her forever. Dylan does come across as chauvinistic at first, but he's really a likable guy that readers will adore. The sexy banter between Dylan and Ronnie sizzles and steams the pages.

Sprinkled throughout TANGLED UP IN LOVE are hints of a future story for another couple of characters, but I'm not going to give that away. Instead, read and find out whom and then wait (im)patiently for Heidi Betts to weave her magic.

A royal battle of the sexes highlights TANGLED UP IN LOVE and makes for a purely enjoyable read that will keep you up late at night to finish. Grab your copy off the bookstore shelves and get ready for a rollicking fun read.
