Gonzalez and co-composers Mariano Krauz and Susana Mendelievich put their own stamp on the style with tempo and tonal variations that show they studied many forms of music, including classical and jazz. He gives the remaining seven songs a bit of a twist by using a sextet, which adds clarinet and flute to the instruments mentioned above, and a string quartet. He also brings together 15 of the worlds most acclaimed tango musicians for this recording. The result is a strong backup for Gonzalez's violin work, featured on "New York" and "Dodegubiao." It also produces a record that is exciting to listen-or dance to.
