    This is an excellent introduction to Tanzania. The book contains information far beyond the needs of an ordinary tourist but enough for anyone who wants to have basic knowledge of this East African country. Research students going to Tanzania, tourists and ordinary travelers will find it to be very useful. It's also very well-written. The author uses British spelling, as he indeed should since he's a Tanzanian and his country was once a British colony. Unfortunately, such spelling may be misinterpreted by some American readers as spelling mistakes!
