In our rapidly changing society, people have lost their instinctive nature in the ways of eating and rely instead on their taste buds and visual sensations for choosing sustenance. People today have a poor concept of what constitutes a good diet and tend to live to eat instead of eating to live. The fast paced life often gives nutritious eating a low priority. At the same time, mind boggling numbers of different diet fads and controversial dietary regimes add even more confusion to modern eating habits. As a result we see a deterioration in the quality of people's lives in modern society.

The Tao of Nutrition presents the wisdom of the ancient Chinese who were very much in tune with their bodies and their environment. They lived by the principle of being in harmony with Nature and maintained balance in every aspect of life, especially diet.
