Overview

Harness the healing power of TFT to conquer anxiety, stress, fears, and addictions

"Believe me, I have seen miracles using Dr. Callahan's techniques. Isn't it time we stopped settling for anything less than miracles?"
—Jack Canfield, editor, Chicken Soup for the Soul series

"This book is as remarkable as the therapy itself. To see a hardened smoker quit in minutes or a person with a fear of dentists suddenly be able to receive needed treatment and achieve instant, sustained relief is extraordinary."
—Richard G. Petty, M.D., Ph.D., founder, Integrated Medicine Program, Department of Psychiatry, University of Pennsylvania

"An invaluable tool for helping anyone suffering from a psychological or physical problem get back onto the road of optimal health. Dr. Callahan's method works."
—From the foreword by Dr. Earl Mindell

Thought Field Therapy (TFT) is a cutting-edge treatment you can use to conquer emotional distress, including phobias, anxiety, stress, compulsions, and addictions. TFT is based on the time-honored principles of both contemporary clinical psychology and Chinese medicine. TFT is a drug-free method of literally tapping into the body's energy and clearing up blockages—without using acupuncture needles, drugs, or any other invasive means.

TFT can provide emotional renewal quickly and safely, with no side effects and without having to go through years of therapy. In Tapping the Healer Within, you'll find the tools to use this powerful method for yourself and discover how TFT can change your life for the better.

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly - Publisher's Weekly
In connection with his The Five Minute Phobia Cure, Callahan has appeared on television with Regis Philbin, Tom Snyder and Leeza Gibbons, successfully working with patients suffering from all stripes of phobias. Now he makes the startling claim that psychological problems can be treated with a sequence of movements and taps on various body parts that correspond to meridians used in acupuncture. Backed by a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Syracuse University, Callahan theorizes that emotional distress corresponds to a "thought field" disturbance that can be corrected by simply balancing the field's energy. Nearly a third of the book is given over to physical formulas for dealing with specific ailments: phobias, addictions, trauma, anxiety, stress, fear, depression, pain, obsession. Replete with cases of immediate, permanent cures that sound nothing short of miraculous, Callahan mixes his scientific evidence with a confident, promotional tone--and preemptive explanations for instances when his trademarked technique (Thought Field Therapy) doesn't work. Illus. not seen by PW. Agent, Jane Dystel. (Jan. 15) Forecast: Promising "emotional problems eliminated in minutes" and claiming a success rate of 80%, this book is sure to arouse controversy among traditional therapists that may spur sales. In my experience this technique works

I learned of TFT from a friend and bought the book. I have seen plenty of so called cures that do not work, and was quite skeptical, still for the price of the book it seemed worth a try. I've now used the techniques many times, and they do work. I've taught the techniques to total strangers, with little description of what they were about to try, other than it may eases their anxiety and they have reported immediate relief from their problems. The techniques have improved my stress levels and happiness in general.

    Amazing Book

I was introduced to Thought Field Therapy by my therapist and wanted to know more. Purchased the book and tore through it, easy to read. I had great results with panic attacks at the dentist. This really works! Also able to release anger that I've carried for years. The procedure seems to simple but it works, give it a try and you'll be amazed too.

I am amazed how well this worked

I read this book after a friend recommended it. I didn't think it would work for my smoking habit of 30 years. The day after I tried this technique I lost my urge to smoke. Then I tried it on my life long fear of spiders. It worked. I killed my first spider without screaming. You need to read this book and try the technique, it is GREAT!!!!

This Book makes Unsupported and Grandiose Claims

The fact is that after over 25 years in development, Roger Callahan's Thought Field Therapy has no solid evidence, in the form of well-designed, published controlled studies, to support its claims, even at the most basic level. Callahan claims that the most advanced level of TFT, the Voice Technology has a success rate of 97-98% and is on a par with hard science, yet the only evidence he cites to support this are uncontrolled 'data' from radio show performances of himself and one of his trainees and treatments done at highly enthusiastic trainings. I was trained in VT and found it not to live up to its claims. I conducted a controlled study, being published in the Scientific Review of Mental Health Practice that demonstrates VT to be no better than randomly selected treatments requiring no special 'technology'. Yet the Callahans continue to charge people $100,000 to be trained on this level and clients are charged up to $600 per hour for VT. For people who are considering signing up for TFT treatment or training, I recommend the following article: http://www.srmhp.org/0302/media-watch.html Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence and after 25 years, TFT has come up short on such evidence.
