Reviewer:
Description: This book contains information in an extremely abbreviated form but useful in the daily practice of orthopedics. It is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket and provide a quick reference.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide easy and fast access to facts and data that could be helpful to orthopaedic practitioners. The book meets these criteria.
Audience: The targeted audience includes physicians involved in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. It would be ideal for residents in orthopedic emergency medicine and family practice. The authors are credible.
Features: The book has general information on trauma assessment and initial management, anatomy of upper and lower extremities, general and pediatric common diseases, and common fractures. Information and facts needed on the spot during the care of patients in any orthopedic and emergency practice could be readily readily retrieved from this pocket book. It is not a comprehensive reference with detailed and in-depth discussion of diseases.
Assessment: Although small in size, this book includes pertinent information needed in the daily practice of orthopedic surgeons and emergency room physicians. It could serve as a quick reference for residents and medical students.
