Purpose: The purpose is to provide nurses with a resource with accurate and up-to-date pharmacology information and nursing implications that is easily portable.
Audience: The audience includes nursing students and novice nurses, as well as experienced nursing professionals who provide patient care at the bedside.
Features: The book includes not only the extremely important pharmacology information, but also the supporting nursing implications, tips on medication administration, patient information, and other valuable data. It is well organized, easy to use in everyday practice, and can be carried in a lab coat.
Assessment: This is a wonderful tool for practicing nurses. The book contains the most commonly prescribed medications used by bedside nurses. The addition of the nursing implications makes this a unique and valuable reference. And, the expectation of an application for the iPhone, Android, and Blackberry in the near future is exciting.
