The book is a curious mix between excellent investigative skills, and very good story telling. One thing's for certain, whether you believe Patton as assassinated or not: there are too many unanswered questions surrounding his death, and too many people simply vanished without a trace that were connected to his accident and then death in the hospital. If the evidence that is presented in the book was put before a judge today in a modern homicide investigation, the prosecuting attourney would have *more* than enough circumstantial evidence to go to trial.

So, the question is...why isn't the US Government interested in determining the truth all these years later? Because airing dirty laundry that might incriminate past political & military figures wouldn't be their first option.

Was Patton assassinated? Read the book, I'm sure you'll want the body exhumed and a present-day DNA driven investigation undertaken as well.

Shocking evidence of assassination and set up for Cold War

If you can read this and still believe the official story of Patton's death you are probably the sort of person that still thinks Vince Foster committed suicide.
What I found most illuminating was not that Patton was assassinated but the staggering revelations that he was regularly prevented from finishing the war early and the amount of collusion between the West and Soviets that ensured the Russians would "own" eastern Europe and set up perfect conditions for the "Cold War" and therefore keep the Military Industrial Complex and it's New World Order owners very happy, dominant and of course rich. We know by reading Carroll Quigley's "Anglo-American Establishment" that the Global Elites have engineered all major conflict for at least the last 150 years and of course funded both sides, but to read such damning proof will definitely be an eye opener to many. Revealing

I have read everything about George Patton I could get my hands on since I saw the movie in 1975. Patton's death left me with a lot of questions which Wilcox has now answered for me.

For Insightful And The Open Minded Only...

Circumstantially, Mr. Wilcox provides many examples of how purged documents and absentee participants could only be explained by a conspiracy of some kind...to buttress this with the kind of first person testimony provided by people who were there; corroborated by second person testimony from close relatives of participants...you put it all together and it cannot be dismissed.

I am glad Mr. Wilcox had the wherewithall and persistence to tie it all together. It is time we all saw the reality of the people we have spent the last seventy years turning into icons.

I don't(want to)believe Patton was assassinated

After reading this book, how can you not at least entertain the thought? There were so many motives and people involved, both domestic and foreign, that I was arguing with myself that this couldn't be possible. Or was it?

I gave this book a 5-star rating based on its remarkable achievement with my husband! Let me explain! I just can't believe it! I got this book for my husband but really held little hope of him reading it. I LOVE to read, so I was trying to "tempt" him with a book about one of his favorite military heroes - General Patton. Well - surprise surprise! - it WORKED! He not only read it (about 3 months and a few "subtle" questions after I gave it to him), but said he actually ENJOYED it! Now, this book MUST be GOOD for HIM to say that, so now I must also read it! Can't wait!

Fascinating analysis of the mystery surrounding the greatest American general of World War II. The author examines possibilities that Patton was assiassinated, and uncovers compelling evidence.

Extremely well researched analysis of the death of General George S. Patton, America's most brilliant, but often criticized general of the Second World War. The author unearths several sources who claim that Patton did not die accidentally, that the accident which led to his death was staged, and that he was slowly recovering from the injuries he incurred, then was executed in the hospital.

The head of the OSS, the forerunner of today's CIA, and the head of Russia's KGB, both had reason to want Patton silenced about American military mistakes, and our failure to recognize the looming threat of the USSR to the European continent and to the United States. Add in the absolute fear by Joseph Stalin that Patton would convince the Allies to turn their attention toward the Soviet menace, and you have motive for murder.

Wilcox points to the alarming string of "coincidences" that all documentation of Patton's accident, and the subsequent investigation by military intelligence have disappeared. He also documents numerous examples of KGB murders by staged "accidents," and the presence of senior KGB agents in the vicinity of Patton's headquarters the week of his fatal accident.

Finally the author discusses statements supported by personal diaries of a free-lance OSS and CIA spy who states he was asked to arrange for Patton's assassination.

The only negative to this book is that the author writes repetitively about some of his key evidence in what appears to be an attempt to fill pages. That said, if you have an interest in military history, or the beginning of the cold war, this is a good book. Having read several books about Patton including what is probably the definitive biography by Carlo D' Este, I found this book fascinating.

Great Book About the Plot to Assassinate General Patton!

This book was very interesting to read. Although the book was speculation, it was backed up with some pretty good evidence that makes you wonder. Yeah, i dont know what that other Anonymous writer said about the book being 250 pages it's actually 406 pages of reading pages and then 39 pages of sources, notes and index. It was actually a very good book and i recommend the book to anyone who likes mysteries or world war ii stuff.

A Great Read!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book! Well-researched and laid out like a great mystery novel. Patton was by far our greatest General. Unfortunately he was ahead of his time. He knew the Russians were not to be trusted. We were played by Stalin and the communists, who ended up with most of Eastern Europe after the War ¿ a pretty good head start. And we gave it to them. This book exposes the naiveté of the left-leaning Roosevelt administration who loved and respected Uncle Joe and who had disdain for the likes of George S. Patton ¿ a general too effective, too American and far too prescient for his time. Motive is clear. Patton was murdered. The real question is ¿by whom?¿!

Quite a tale

I don't know what ¿Anonymous¿ read but Target Patton has 444 pages, not 250. Did he really read it? The book has excellent research and writing. As a vet, I knew Patton died in an accident and I'd heard the rumors. But never before have I seen such strong evidence that the rumors might be true. Patton was probably offed by elements high up in our government and the Soviet government. Both sides had reasons. Start with the secrets he knew and was about to tell and end with him wanting to start WWIII. Confessons by assasins, missing records, mysterious disappearances - even the accident Cadillac in the Patton museum is suspect. It¿s VIN has been scratched out. The author has pictures! This book has it all. And it's all real and supported by sources. It should be read by anyone seeking the truth about what really happened to Gen. Patton.

250 pages of pure speculation and no supporting facts

i was very interested in reading this book after reading a review for the book. unfortunately the review i read must have been by the author's brother or wife for it was nothing like the book i read. thsi book is 250 pages of pure speculation, what ifs, rumours without any sources and lack of existence of documents as proof something is being covered up by someone. I do not doubt that it is possible the soviets may have killed or tryed to kill Patton but this book does nothing to show or prove anything. Very disapointing
