Tarizon: Conquest Earthby William Manchee
Camellia "Mel" Walker, a young California insurance investigator, receives unexpected news that her father, a veteran policeman, is dead. The police think the elder Walker committed suicide, but Mel knows suicide is out of character for her father; her intuition proves justified when she becomes the victim of a mugging and a series of suspicious accidents. This realistic, suspenseful police procedural, Spizer's third book, capably blends traditional police routine and modern, computer-based sleuthing.

In the "final" episode of the Tarizon series, the Purists set off to Earth after a couple of skirmishes. There are battles in space, and political machinations on both Tarizon and Earth. Both Fleets reach Earth and fighting ensues. Who shall prevail? A complex narrative pushes the reader deeper in the world of the story with concise descriptions and lively characters. This episode has lots of emotion, action, military maneuvers, politics, and drama. Compared to prior episodes, without giving too much away, the characters really seem to come alive and show how much they have developed since the quest began. This whole series has been somewhat difficult to review as there is much I could say, but it would give too much plot away. Therefore, I shall just say this: Overall, a thrilling read.
