Anyone who is familiar with the Rider Waite deck can use Tarot of the Cloisters. The imagery is very close. This deck has the look of stained glass, the cards are also round. There is a growing movement in the tarot community to not use traditional reversed meanings. The theory is that all cards have the possibility of carrying mutiple meanings. I personaly go by this and do not reverse cards when reading. Round cards are very different. With a round deck you lose the choice of right side up or upside down. All of a sudden you are faced with infinite degrees of the energy of a card being pushed or being held back. A round deck opens up possibilities not found in most other decks. I have other round decks, and I enjoy them, but they are geared toward women. This deck is a deck anyone can enjoy.
