Meet the Author

Janina Renée is a scholar of folklore, psychology, medical anthropology, the material culture of magic, ritual studies, history, and literature. Her books include Tarot Spells, Tarot Your Everyday Guide (winner of 2001 Coalition of Visionary Resources award for best Self Help book), Tarot for a New Generation (2002 COVR winner, best General Interest Title), and By Candlelight: Rites for Celebration, Blessing and Prayer (2005 COVR runner-up, Spirituality).     a must have in your wicca library

    I have read and collected tarot for 15 years and finally i have a book on tarot magic that is simple yet effective. these spells are not harmful to your cards or your karma. this is great for a beginner or advanced levels. this book is a must have,and an excellent tool for spell work.just remember to respect your cards and they will work for you...

    Excellent- even for beginners!

    I performed the spell to enhance attractiveness way back in April '97. I had never had a boyfriend or even a date before that. I was an absolute beginner when it came to any kind of magic. But I did the spell and 4 months later a guy at work asked me out! Not only that but the spell is still working even to this day... so these spells really work! They are very simple and easy to follow! Just remember what goes around comes around so don't do any kind of spell to harm someone or get someone who is not yours to take!

    Useful both for spell casters and Tarot readers alike.

    I love this book!!! I have been a solitary witch for 7 years and during that time I have developed a system of magick whereby I choose appropriate Tarot cards and associated corresponding items, including coloured candles, to focus my intent. This book does that and more! I read Tarot but I had never thought of actually using the cards as a 'narrative', rather I had maybe picked one specific 'theme' card. Maybe I could've written this book myself in a few years time (joke) - but now I don't need to!

    Good Motivator

    I really enjoyed this book. It gives you motivation with the affirmations you say with every spell. You can personalize the affirmations. You get to chose your own way of starting and ending your spells, if you want them quick and easy or if you want a long term situation dealt with. It gives you a sense of hope with what you're doing, and at the same time it's a spirtual awakening. The tarot set ups are very simple and easy to understand while at the same time the explanation for the order they're in is very clear. I highly recommend it. Required:A very good imagination!
