Overview

Under the knife, under the gun…and under no illusion he’ll sacrifice everything for her.

Sensory Ops, Book 5

After five years in Witness Protection, Greycen Craig’s life of careful routine is upended when she learns her sister is the victim in a hit and run, hospitalized, unconscious, and needing a kidney only Grey can give.

Despite warnings that this “accident” is a ruse to draw her out into the open, Grey risks everything to race back to Miami—where she comes face to face with the one man she aches to trust.

FBI agent Liam Burgess thinks he’s prepared for the moment Grey walks into her sister’s hospital room. But the moment the woman who holds his heart appears, his tongue is almost too tied to remember to ask one burning question—why she disappeared in Las Vegas two years ago.

As Grey struggles with what to tell him—everything or nothing—the danger that drove her underground resurfaces, threatening everyone she loves. And the only safe place to run is the arms of the one man she can’t tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Warning: This title contains a hero who knows who he wants and isn't afraid to fight for her and a heroine with secrets she fears hold the power to unravel all their dreams.

I’ll be honest, I’ve only read two books from the series but I was able to jump right into the story with no problem. You can tell that characters from previous books come back as well as characters from her other series (Tulle & Tulips) make appearances as well. I’m sure that this would be an added bonus to readers of those books. I always enjoy when characters come back in future books. I liked that Nikki didn’t make her alpha male overbearing. Instead, Liam knows when to take a step back to give Grey some space. However, even though there is the illusion of space being given, it is just an illusion. He never loses tabs on her regardless of the situation. I liked how devoted he was to his wife, who was his wife for a very brief moment in time. Grey was definitely not a pushover or passive character. She has been through a lot in life, bother before and after the incident that put her it witness protection. However, she remains strong and determined in life regardless of the obstacles in her way. She was an enjoyable character to read about. She was loyal, strong and wasn’t too held up in her own bubble to take a step back and look at things as a whole. With all this being said, I didn’t really connect to the story as much as I’d have hoped to. I still enjoyed it but something was holding me back. There was nothing wrong with the story but it just felt like it was missing something.

How could I have missed this series of books from author Nikki Duncan?  It grabs you from the beginning and with the name of Liam(so cool) for the hero and Grey(an even cooler name)for the heroine,  this is a book that you NEED to read!  Even though this is part of a series it is very easy to figure out who is who and you get drawn into the story.  My favorite kind!

Taste Me Deadly by Nikki Duncan Grey is back in town because she needs to donate her kidney to her sister Ruby. She's been under witness protection but she had to rescue her sister who's in a coma. When she appears at the hospital she meets her husband-Liam Burgess, they've not been together for years and he takes her under his wing and brings her back to the house where other family members come and go. There are many to watch over her-it's almost too many to keep track of but the main characters are easy to follow. There is much action and a lot of nightmares as to the tragedy that occurred while she was at the bakery. Many never even knew she was married to Liam. His twin brother is Aiden and he's around to help protect her. Somebody wants her dead before she can testify and they are onto her whereabouts ...steamy passionate love scenes. Love the place he takes not only her body to but her mind... Other works by the author are highlighted at the end along with excerpts. I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I LOVE Sensory Ops stories!! This one is sooooooo romantic!!! Liam is totally alpha but he tries so hard to give Grey what she needs and protect her at the same time *sigh*. Read it! Savour it! Love it!
