This is probably one of the best cookbooks I own. Taste of Home has come through again. Every recipe I have tried so far has been good to excellent. Guests who have enjoyed the meals I have prepared using the book have asked for the recipes, and upon looking through the book (which I always show them) decide they want a copy for themselves. I have bought five as gifts for family members so far, and plan to buy two more in the future for friends' birthays. In this day when everyone is trying to watch their diet, but most of us really don't care for "diet food", this really fills the bill. We get all the things we love to eat, but without all the calories. Also, the recipes are just plain healthier, even if you are not watching your weight, but just need to eat for better heart health,etc. Also, most of the recipes include a picture- which is something I really like. I have a Weight Watchers Cookbook that I hardly ever use because there are no pictures for me to see what the food will look like. Since I am not a visual person- lack of pictures can be a "deal breaker" for me.

I would suggest this book to anyone who is tired of being restricted to what they eat so they can lose weight. It has everyday realistic recipes that are easy to prepare yet very good. Also, if you want a no brains approach, it gives you a 6 week meal plan to follow, including snacks. Try it, you will love this book. I easily have 100's of cookbooks and this is one of my favorites.

I showed this book to a co-worker the day it was delivered. She borrowed it over her lunch hour and returned it with dozens of recipes tagged with post it notes. She was so right! The recipes are organized by meal, and then sorted by general calorie count. Every recipe I have tried so far is excellent and easy. There are no particularly strange ingredients or strange uses of ingredients. The dishes are the sort that all members of the family can enjoy, and there are even sufficient vegetarian options. There are even real desserts! I loved the Seafood Soup, Spicy French Dip (I did back down on the quantity of jalapenos, though), and the White Chocolate Cranberry Cookies (which work well with dried cherries.) I'm really looking forward to trying just about everything in the book.
Mind you, this book is not philosophically aligned with some of the more popular diets. Atkins style dieters won't find much in here that is worth their time, and there isn't much for South Beach dieters. The co-worker who borrowed it is doing Weight Watchers so I suppose it's okay with that one.
There is a diet system detailed in the first part of the book but I think it's more common sense than a true diet system. For the rest of us, the ones who just want to lose weight without having to follow peculiar rules or eat strange combinations of things, this diet is perfect.

I have a ton of cookbooks. Some are especially for diets and some are not. This Cookbook has recipes that are REALLY good and so quick and easy to prepare.

I am so happy with the speedy delivery of this book. I love Taste of Home and get their magazine. I also have a large Taste of Home cookbook and love the recipes there. I have tried many of them. We (my family) are trying to eat lighter so I got this cookbook. I can't wait to try the recipes.

Finally, cooking comfort food without all the calories and have it taste good. Also, adding a new twist to the old way of doing things without having to shop for a lot of unusual ingredients.

This is one of the best diet cookbooks I've come across for pleasing the WHOLE family. The recipes are easy to make, not strange (that is a big hit with the kids), and use easy to acquire ingredients. The photos are very good (especially for the children when THEY choose to cook).

This cookbook is great for anyone who is trying to be more conscientious about what they're eating. The great part is that the food still tastes great even though it is healthier. I love that the cookbook puts together possible daily meal plans. It makes eating healthy easier!

I use the recipes in this book to help me track calories and manage portion control. The recipes were largely easy to make and tasty. The drawback for me was that there weren't many one dish meal recipes for busy days.

This cookbook is wonderful if you are trying to watch your waistline, but want some great meals. The photos are great and more than one recipe is on a page, which makes them short and sweet!

Working on losing weight and love the TOH recipes - nice to have them lightened up and the caloric values of each serving. Would have liked the recipes to make one or two servings though ~ did a lot of reduction in ingredients so that I had a diverse menu.
