Paul has pulled together some of of New York's forgotten history of how food has been in the shadows of our heritage and cultural background . As having attended the first Spiedie Fest , I saw first hand how ( good ) food can unite people . Well written and assembled !
I picked this book up for the recipes, and ended up really enjoying the stories and history of the different restaurants in the area. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys cooking OR eating out.
This book brought back so many great memories, especially the Pig Stand. My late husband always took me there when we were dating. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face!
This is a fantastic look into the history of local establishments of the southern tier. A must have for locals, as well as those new to the area. I especially enjoyed the recipes.
Excellent reading for the foodies and the locals who remember all the old time restaurants. If you are new to the area then it is a great guide for current eating establishments.
