Once the domain of wayward sailors, outlaw bikers, and carnival sideshows, tattoos have infiltrated the twenty-first-century public domain, gaining recognition as the “art of the human canvas.” With striking visuals of some amazing ink, Tattoo truly celebrates this cutting-edge medium for what it is--deeply personal and often provocative art.

Exploring that visceral emotional connection between body and subject, Tattoo showcases striking, full-color photographs of skin art, along with from-the-heart words of a broad spectrum of adventurers who chose to submit their skin to a tattoo artist's needle. What inspired these indelible designs? Tattoo invites you to share in the individual stories and remarkable images of some unforgettable ink.
