Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Denise Daley
Taylor Swift is an incredibly famous performer with surprising roots. This biography describes Taylor's early years, her fast rise to fame, and her plans for the future. Taylor was a talented and hard-working little girl who taught herself how to play guitar. She wrote songs and gave demo CDs of herself singing to recording studios. Her celebrity soared once she was signed to a studio. Taylor's debut album reached number one on the Country Albums Chart. Since then she has won numerous awards and has achieved great fame. Some of the chapters dwell on her success, almost boasting of her awards and achievements. The final chapter, however, portrays Taylor as down-to-earth and wholesome, despite her huge success. This book contains many photographs of the superstar including several from her younger years. There are numerous text boxes throughout. Most of these boxes contain interesting information about Taylor but others explain some of the insider terminology that is used in this high interest book. The book concludes with a glossary, an index, and a list of print and online sources where readers can get more information on this amazing performer. This book is part of the "Star Biographies" series. Reviewer: Denise Daley
