Clay Barham spent many active years in politics helping to turn the California Republican Party and its volunteer organizations, into a grassroots party, free of the cautious country club lawyers and cocktail-party leadership. A candidate for the California legislature, stand-in talk show host for ABC, educated in both physical and behavioral sciences, with a Ph.D. in sociology, Clay spent many years in business start-ups and turnarounds as well as an outplacement counselor. He also authored How To Live with Yourself and Like You (Kensington 1976), an allegorical presentation for the cure of mindlessness, The Roots of Freedom and Tyranny.
