Glad I bought more than one book on the subject.

This is a very colorful, high quality book, but very simplistic and lacking in detail. It seems to focus primarily on the pull-down menu while overlooking those useful icons on the screen. There are not actual exercises to give you hands on experience. If you can only afford one book, get one with actual applications.

    Great book for beginners

If you are a person who knows absolutely nothing about Flash, like me at one time, this is the book for you. It's easy to read with great, colorful graphics and text that take you step by step through the processes of animation and other effects. It doesn't delve too much into action scripting but that's OK because it's a book for those who are just starting to use Flash. It helped me complete my assignments for my Flash animation class. I highly recommend this book.
