As a dabbler in hand dyeing yarn, this book is the answer to all my questions about dyes, colors, how to get particular color effects. how to set up a home dying workplace, and things to watch out for. The author is very experienced and has graced us by sharing her expertise. The book is clear, easy to follow and encourages creativity. It is very obvious she loves what she does and is very good at it. I highly recommend this book for both the beginner and the advanced yarn dyer. Was this review helpful? I've never dyed my own yarn before, but I wanted to try it out. This book makes it so easy! I especially like the fact that it's spiral-bound, so it lays flat when you're working - I don't have to weigh it down or otherwise crush the book just to keep it to the page I want. The lessons are written step by step, so it's almost like you have a teacher right there beside you. One of my friends has done a lot of silk dyeing, but she loves this book, too, because it goes into so many different techniques (from beginner to expert) that she can use on both silk and yarn. Was this review helpful?
