    Great book, but poorly edited.

    This is a great knitting book in general. The information is clear and helpful and the patterns are nice. However, it is very poorly edited. There are patterns that have the wrong photos and missing information, as well as typos. It gives the impression that it was rushed into print before it was ready. I understand that typos are fairly common, but that a book could be printed with a main pattern photo being of the wrong sock is inexcusable.

    For "show me how" type knitters...

    I like this book, I am one of those people that learn better with a good picture of "how to" more than anything else.

    Good Reference Book

    Sock knitting can be tricky, and no book is a substitute for taking a class to learn the basics. But once you know the basics, this book is a great instruction/reference book to help you branch out and try a new technique. I found the toe-up instructions to be quite helpful and easy to follow. Like another reviewer said, there is one pattern that has the wrong photo. I wish the photos of the techniques were more close-up to make them easier to follow.
