Education reform is a hot topic with opinions being offered by politicians and pundits alike. This book offers a teacher’s perspective with emphasis given to teacher-driven solutions. This book is a call to teachers and administrators to unite around a process called the 3Cs to improve instruction
Have you ever wondered why education reform is moving at a snail’s pace? One of the roadblocks to true reform is teacher isolation. Another dilemma is that the education establishment still operates our schools on a factory model with its top-down structure. We teachers should not be waiting for the education establishment to mandate our efforts toward reform and improvement while we passively stand by. We do the teaching, we are the experts and we should be leading the effort to improve instruction and outcomes. After all, it is our practice.

About the Author

Curtis Tipton has been a teacher for thirty-six years having worked in Connecticut, Brazil and Tennessee. He taught in Greenwich, Connecticut for twenty-two years where he participated in the 2001 U.S. Educators delegation to Japan and won the Distinguished Teacher award in 2002. He has degrees from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Lesley University and Teachers College at Columbia University. He lives in Knoxville, Tennessee with his family and is currently a teacher with Hamblen County Schools.
