I used this book to study for my TEAS test. English and Math parts are good , but Science part is nothing like the questions in the real test. This book covers a lot of Anatomy and Physiology(only couple of questions on yhis part in the actual test), Chem and Life Science. The TEAS' Science part is very random. It has little bit of everything( geology, chem, physics, biology , anatomy,nutrition, scientific reasoning e.t.c)You definitely need an extra science book to score high on the Science section.

I think this book is really well written and is easy to read and understand. I have not taken a class in almost 20 years and have now decided to go back to nursing school. To get in I must take the TEAS. I haven't taken the test yet but already my confidence in how I will score has gone up by a LOT. However, the proof will be the score that I receive on the test!

In general, the material in the study guide is well written and touches upon all subjects fairly well; but in some areas it lacks depth of information. The math and English and language usage sections give you every thing you need to score well, but the reading and science sections may leave you sweating in frustration during the exam. The science test questions are generally more detailed then the information provided for study, and require prior knowlege of all sciences to be retapped for educated guessing purposes. The only downside about the reading section, is its limited examples and practice questions. If reading is not your forte, a supplimentary study guide is recommended. PS. Best of luck on your exam!

I spent 4 days poring over the official ati study guide, took both of the practice tests that came in the back of the book, and then just went for it. I ended up with a 99th percentile score. I didn't see a single question that wasn't covered in the book. Granted it's a lot of reading to do, but the resources you need to ace this exam are there, and it's a lot cheaper at B&N than at the official website!

Great study guide!! Studied and did the practice tests in the back of the book over and over until I understood everything good. If you study hard you will pass :)

I had a similar experience as another reviewer in that when I ordered this book on February 9, it was supposedly available to ship immediately. Two days later I received an email saying that the book would not ship for 5-10 days, but I could go to the website to cancel the order if I so desired. I attempted to do so, only to find out I could not actually cancel the order through the website. I called customer service, explained the situation, and the customer service associate assured me she had cancelled the order for me. One hour later, I receive another email saying my order cannot be cancelled. I go to my account, and, sure enough, my order has not actually been cancelled. I repeated this cycle several times in the next few days. The book is now (supposedly) in stock, and a not so lovely customer service associate just informed me that my order cannot be cancelled because the book will ship anytime now. So, I now I have to use my time to return the book to a Barnes and Noble store when it gets here. Beware, just because the availability for this book might say immediately available, you can count on a delay (as well as a headache).

I ordered this book on the 1/10/11 and still have not received it. I also have to add that I used express shipping. I called customer service to see when the item would be shipped and to my dismay after holding for over a half hour I was informed that it would not be shipped until the 1/14/2011. The customer service operator was rude and wouldn't offer an explanation as to why the book had not shipped...The rating is not for the book content but for poor customer service.So if and when I receive the book I will let everyone know how it is, I'll be ordering through Amazon next time.
