Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Shirley Nelson
This small volume in the "Profiles" series is packed with biographical information about six people who were giants in the world of technology. Their early lives as students and the influences of their families are discussed. Each had a dream and although at times those dreams had to be reworked, each achieved his dream. The book begins with Bill Gates who as a curious boy read the encyclopedia for fun. This curiosity led to his development of Microsoft. Steve Jobs, the creator of the Apple Computer, was known as a troublemaker in school. Jeff Bezos founded Amazon. Larry Page and Sergey Brin are cofounders of Google. Mark Zuckerberg created Facebook. All six were curious as youngsters and were not afraid to think outside the box and follow their dreams. While all six became multi-millionaires, their success required years of hard work. Through perseverance they achieved their dreams. Young readers will derive much inspiration from reading their stories. Photos, documents, and boxes of extra information add to the informative quality of this enjoyable book. Reviewer: Shirley Nelson
