Children's Literature - Tiffany Torbeck
If baseball is America's pastime, then tee ball must be young-America's pastime. In this simple book, readers will learn the basics of the sport, the equipment and the fun. Readers will learn about hitting, catching, throwing and running the bases. Simple diagrams of the field are shown to give children an idea of where they will play the different positions. Each spread includes bright pictures and simple statements that are easy to follow. The pictures perfectly capture the spirit of tee ball-young players learning and having fun, while creating some memorable and funny moments, along the way. The pictures really are the star of this book. Most readers will be more engaged by the scenes of young players like themselves than the actual text. Tips on fitness, good sportsmanship, and an index and glossary are included. Public libraries that have an active tee ball system, or any library that is in need of more beginning reader book, especially nonfiction or sports, should consider this volume.
