Overview

Teen Love : On Relationships offered teens a chance to read about love and relationships written from their perspective, with sensitivity to their needs and respect for their experiences and feelings. The Journal on Relationships picks up where its predecessor left off, giving teens a safe place to disclose their feelings and discover ways to handle all the new feelings love and relationships bring. Wherever teens find themselves in the complexities of love and relationships, this book will help them sort through their feelings in effective ways, offering wisdom, support and compassion on every page.

Designed to be a journal/companion piece to Teen Love : On Relationships, this latest offering from Kimberly Kirberger and The Real World's Colin Mortensen gives teens plenty of space to write about their own feelings on and experiences with love and relationships. They'll find exercises to help them work through their problems and difficulties, and original contributions from other teens, whose expression of their innermost feelings will help readers acknowledge, understand and validate their own. It also has space for family, friends and loved ones to share their feelings and advice. With all it has to offer, once completed with their own feedback, this book will become an invaluable guide and keepsake for all teens.

Teens and the adults who love and care about them will all agree that this book is a must!

How Odd A Feeling

How odd a feeling this is;

almost nothing

But yet it lays deep within

my chest and

gently pushes

itself out to

each fingertip.

How odd a feeling is this

that leaves me

wondering and wanting.

That leaves a

Warmth

throughout me.

How odd a feeling is this

that causes my

world to shake

and the waters to flood.

How odd a feeling is this

that it burns deep

in my soul

so deep that it places

fire upon my lips,

and laughter in my eyes.

How odd a feeling is this

that I do not know

any word to describe

it other

than

...love.

—Rikki Knies

Starting Over

Starting over means the possibility of love is once again in the air. It gives you a chance to meet someone new; a chance to develop a crush; a chance to get that tingly feeling that runs through your body when you kiss someone that you like for the first time; a chance to get nervous before the first phone call, the first date or the first kiss; a chance to look in the person's direction and wonder if he or she is looking in yours; a chance to exchange glances, smiles, names or phone numbers; a chance to notice his or her smell or touch. But, most of all, starting over gives you a chance to get back in the game! Oh yeah, the chase is on!

Whatever you do, don't close your heart to others. I've done this for most of my life and am just now learning how to let people in. Ironically, in trying to keep myself from getting hurt, I ended up depriving myself of things that I really needed and wanted. Open your heart!

Colin is a Genius! (and my future prom date)

'A Journal on Relationships' should be distributed to all teenagers. It acts as a love manual, a bible even. I think it's mandatory for all teens. Although I've never been in a relationship, I know what it's like just by reading this fine piece of literary work. I am envious of those that are in relationships. I wish I were in a relationship. Colin you're a literary mastermind and genius. It is no wonder why you attended such an exceptional choice of a university. Those kids at UC Berkeley sure done taught you well! If you're not busy during the month of May. Swing by Daly City and come to my Senior Ball! We'll have a gas!

    So Great

Both the book Teen Love and now the Journal are so great. Kimberly has a way of talking to us without using all that weird magazine lingo..like 'Catch your crush or ring your romeo. She just talks normal and it is so good. All that she says is good advice but you don't feel like it is someone talking down to you. It is hard to explain. Trust me , any teen will love this book and the journal.
