Editorial Reviews

VOYA
This well-designed book begins with an eighty-three-page introduction to the history and present state of Wiccan tradition. It includes detailed tables of various deities; the four directions, colors, and days of the week with their associations; key holidays; animal totems; and runes. The remainder of the book consists of spells: "Excel at Your Hobby," "Lessen Homework," "Find a True Friend," "Learn How to Trust Again." Detailed appendixes include magazines, Web sites, and metaphysical stores across the country. The lovely cover, magickal content, and a widespread interest in witchcraft will find this book an audience in most libraries. Each spell comes with the caveat that if it does not manifest in three months, it probably will not work because it is not in agreement with Spirit and its plans for the universe. The spells require special supplies such as image candles, iris oil, and lodestone gems, yet the key seems to be centering oneself before beginning a spell and then reciting the ritual phrases. As in any belief system, ritual helps one to focus on whatever one desires. Repeating prayers, spells, or mantras provide further focus. For teenagers seeking a mystical explanation to their world or simply an introduction to modern Wicca, this spell book might be an answer. Inconsistencies—deity names switch between Greek and Roman and their sources are not clearly explained—and numerous definitional lapses plague a book that otherwise is presented well. Glossary. A MUST HAVE!!

This book is great for young wiccans!! I have been into Wicca for a long time and found this book very helpful. Yet the spells are easy so anyone of any level can use them. The spells also invole things that can be very helpful for teens. Not only does this book include spells but information about how to cast a circle, esbats, sabbats, and a lot of more important information.

    Another Great Book

The Teen spell book? It sounds weird to think of it as a teen spell book, I would tell any one to buy this book, it is so good to have. It goes into details, and doesn't leave you hanging. A good section on Runes also! I think any wiccan would be very greatful of this book. Very easy to understand. Very clear on any subject. Has a good list of websites and occult shops also. I found 2 in my area where I didn't know there were any!

    The Pros and Cons

Its an okay spell book. Its helpful, for those who want to learn basic rules of spell writting, but every witch knows that spells to improve yourself adn make other fall in in love with you , is all a fantasy its not really happening, and if its done terrible things can come of it. I speak of own experience it hard to disencantate your own spell, because you have to learn that its not worth it and how troublesome it may be.

    Never read it.

Honestly, I'm wanting to learn to be a witch, a preistess maybe. I've never read this book, though it looks inspiring. My inspiration for wanting to be a wiccan is from the books 'Wicked'. I've always wanted something to make me happy, and it seems like being a wiccan is the thing for me. This book looks like it will encourage teens to find their inner strength.

    Great Resource, easy read

As the author myself of teen spiritually-focused books (The Thundering Years: Rituals and Sacred Wisdom for Teens, and Teen Psychic), I highly recommend this book. It is filled with down to earth 'spells' that build self-esteem and generate positive relationships. It is a recommended reading in all of my publications.
