I received this Bible from the publisher for the purpose of this review. All comments and opinions are entirely my own. This new teen study Bible from Zondervan is perfect for both teen boys and girls, even though there are a few sections that focus mainly on girls or mainly on boys. These are the Dear Jordan pages and they deal with real teen problems such as cutting, porn, clothes to wear, cussing, etc. and help teens find verses to go along with the subject they are studying. The "overview" of each book of the Bible is helpful and interesting to read as well. It includes 5 or so facts about the said book as well as about when it was written and who probably (if unsure) wrote it. The Questions and Answers are also fun. A check list can be found in the very back of the Bible that encourages the reader to go through the entire Bible, and helps keep track of where you are. The colors are neutral, not boring and not crazy colors and pictures, and the Bible is hardback, making it appealing to either gender of teen. The only thing that wasn't up to par with me was that it is NIV; I personally prefer the ESV or most of the time KJV, but that's a personal opinion. Overall, this particular teen study Bible from Zondervan earns 4 out of 5 stars and I recommend it to any teen who has been looking for a study Bible. Finally there is a children's bible that actually targets its intended readers with age appropriate text as well as with colorful graphics and articles. The Teen Study bible NIV edition is marketed for teenagers. In practice, i think this is a good choice for younger teens. Unlike many kids' bibles, this bible is actually one that kids will be able to read. With the two tone, modern minimalist graphic print cover- interior graphics, and the inviting font of the faithful yet easy to understand NIV text, will encourage teen bible readers to actually read this bible. The green splashes of color and boxed text styled articles will draw the attention of teens . I can not say how frequently I have seen children's bibles with tiny 6-7 point font in a hard to read NKJV or KJV! While some readers may argue that the NIV is not as easy to read as the NLT or other more modern or paraphrased versions- of all the literal translations on the market, the NIV is probably the most accessible to younger readers. This bible is not one that kids will quickly outgrow. Even beyond the early teen years, I feel that even teens will appreciate this easy to read, inviting bible. The bold two-tone green graphics make this bible inviting to pick up and read. Highlighted verses and a magazine styled interior will draw the teen readers attention to the bible text as well as highlighted side bars of useful information to apply. This bible most likely is intended to be a gift to a teen by a mom or grandmother or aunt. It is unlikely that a teenager would actually make this bible selection on her own. Nevertheless, this is still a valuable edition making this a bible that will prove to be useful even long into the teen years and for parents as well. This is a good choice for first time teen bible readers and it is a good bible that young readers will not quickly outgrow. Children's Bible Directory This bible is a beautifully bound hardcover. This high quality bible will easily stand up to years of use. As a blogger for BookLook blogger I received a copy of this book for the purpose of writing this review.

Teen Study Bible, NIV By Edited by Lawrence O. Richards and Sue W. Richards Published by Zondervan   The Teen Study Bible is a very beautiful Bible. Just like all Bible’s it shares The Word of God and gives a teenage view to the younger viewers aimed for in this category. This Bible is amazing in its White and Green color. It shows off a sleek and put together look with the consistency design through the beginning and end. The clean-cut spacing and font is perfect; not too small and very legible. So far no ink discrepancies were found. There are some hand written Dear Jane/Dear John letters and they answer some of the questions that many children go through, the answers aren't vague and they rely on Bible stories and scriptures to provide evidence and reliable proof. It's a Durable Bible, being Hardcover and it has easy, meaningful devoltionals, also has maps and beginning book commentary and summaries. Overall the Bible is really amazing; the only big setback is the version: NIV. NIV isn't a clear translation from the original text, it has missing scripture in some of the bible books, especially with in the New Testament, and which might I add is very important, and God did say not to take away or add to his Word. Beautiful, Clean, Age Appropriate, Creative.   +++++++++++++++++++++++ Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. The Teen Study Bible (Lawrence O. Richards, Sue W. Richards) is a New International Version Bible with additional teen friendly study features. The Bible itself is a traditional translation, with modern day English verbage, so it is easy to understand.  The study tools that have been included in this Bible include features such as the "Bible Promises" tool, which highlights verses from Scripture for memorization. These verses are helpful verses that can inspire and are easy for teens to relate to. The "Q and A" feature challenges Bible knowledge with a fun trivia question that relates to the reading. The answer is easily found on the following page. The "We Believe" feature breaks down the Apostles' Creed. There are also in depth chapter introductions preceeding each chapter of the Bible which set the scene for the events to come. There is also a fairly lengthy index to help find specific topics in this Bible. Overall i would give this Bible a 5/5. I think it is a helpful tool in getting more out of the Bible foor teenagers. Well thought out and plenty if study features.

Zondervan's "NIV Teen Bible" is a New International Version Bible designed for teenagers. The Bible is a hardcover version, with a white and green motif on the exterior. This Bible has many additional study features that appear in addition to the traditional NIV translation of the Word of God. There is a question and answer box that appears throughout the Bible, entitled, "Dear Jordan", in which some modern day questions are answered using Biblical references (for example, one of these "Dear Jordan" letters asks about the legality of abortion and whether Christians should get them). I thought this was a great way to connect what many teens view as an "out of date" text with the modern day choices that many teens are faced with. Another cool feature of this Bible is the trivia. Randomly placed throughout this Bible are small boxes with a trivia question about the Bible and Biblical times. The answer to the trivia question is conveniently on the next page of the text, so you don't have to go hunting through the Bible to find it. It's a good way to help keep teens engaged, by challenging their knowledge. There is also another study tool entitled, "Instant Access" which connects the particular reading to modern day life in a way that is easy for teens to understand and relate to. I thought this was especially useful in helping young adults understand how the Bible STILL applies to their lives through realistic connections. Overall I thought this Bible was awesome. I would give it a 5/5, and really enjoyed all of the study tools that it featured. This would be a wonderful Bible for any teen, boy or girl. I believe it is very helpful in tying Biblical truths in to the daily life and choices of today's teenager.
