Four rounded sliding tabs let readers join in a gray mouse's search for his mother. Everywhere Teeny Weeny looks—the tree, the pirate ship, the flower—turns up friendly animals, but not Mommy. "That must be Mommy behind the wall!" shouts one page. "Oh no, it's Bear!" it continues, as a golden-furred, sweater-clad bear slides from behind a brick wall licking an ice-cream cone. The tabs do double duty on consecutive pages, multiplying the seek-and-find enjoyment, and the story ends with a picnic reunion between mother and mouse. Simultaneously available: Bunny Boo Has Lost Her Teddy. Up to age 3. (Mar.)

This story follows the adventures of a little mouse named Teeny Weeny who cannot find his mommy anywhere! As Teeny Weeny tries to find his mother, young children can pull out the tabs on each page to help with the search. Teeny Weeny first looks behind the tree and the pull-tab reveals the cat. Next he looks in the pirate ship and finds the crocodile, dog, and pig. Next Teeny Weeny finds the elephant and panda behind the flowers. Is his mommy in the playhouse? No, Teeny Weeny finds the giraffe, zebra, and leopard. Teeny Weeny finds a bear and a monkey before he finally tracks down his mother. On the final pages of the book Teeny Weeny is reunited with his mother over a picnic. The illustrations are playful and fun. Each illustration corresponds to the text on the page, which is helpful to young readers and listeners with pre-reading skills. This book is ideal for boys and girls under age six. Reviewer: Kristen Klotz; Ages 3 mo. to 3.

This engaging, interactive offering features Teeny Weeny, an adorable little mouse in search of his mother.Four large, round tabs depicting different animals poke out of this sturdy little title from the top and side, providing an interesting profile and the promise of interactivity right from the start. Teeny Weeny first looks for Mommy behind a tree, but she's not there. When the tab—easily grasped by little hands—is pulled out, readers find a cat hiding there instead. Teeny next checks for Mommy in a pirate ship. Pulling the tab here reveals a crocodile, but that's not all; the motion also opens two portals in the ship, uncovering both Dog and Pig. Push Crocodile back into place, and Dog and Pig are hidden once again. A determined Teeny finds many other hidden animals as he looks for Mommy in the flowers and the playhouse, behind the wall and in a tree before finally finding her behind a picnic basket filled with goodies. Companion title Bunny Boo Has Lost Her Teddy is filled with similar surprises and another comforting conclusion. The simple lost-and-found storyline, cheery illustrations and easy-to-manipulate tabs will make this interactive title a tot favorite.
