Editorial Reviews

Library Journal - Library Journal
Recent articles about telecommuting abound, including a Wall Street Journal feature, ``Working at Home Has Yet To Work Out'' (12/22/89). This book, one of the few now available on the topic, is more optimistic. The pros and cons of computer- and/or telecommunications-assisted work at home are discussed, as are practical matters such as tax deductions, equipment, safety, and child care (for which telecommuting is not a substitute). Most useful are the lists: resources; jobs compatible with telecommuting, or potentially so; and companies with formal or informal telecommuting arrangements. Recommended for most public libraries and personnel collections.-- Ellen McDermott, NYNEX Corp., White Plains, N.Y.
