As the story becomes spookier and spookier, Reiner pauses to ask "Shall we turn the page- or is it too scary?" That's for you to decide!

    Great story for halloween!!

I am a first grade teacher and used this for a fun Halloween reading. I turned the lights out, closed the blinds and played the CD. My students loved this so much that we listened to it numerous times. It was such a favorite that they even chose this as the book they wanted to read again in June before school was over! I even shared it with my 4yr old niece...that is why I have to order another one. She loved it so much I can't get it back.

    more from this reviewer

A great book for home and the classroom!

This book was a great addition to my second-third grade listening center- it was a great story that the kids loved- but also a wonderful text to use for the 6 traits as well as comprehension and accuracy strategies. My five year old loved it as well- although it did require some explanation and reread.

    Very creative and enjoyable

I purchased this book for my 5 and 7 year old grandchildren, I put the CD in the stereo and turned it up loud while we read along in the book. My grandkids loved it! I had to replay and reread about 50 times that night. They took it to school and the teacher played it for the class and it was a winner. I highly recommend this book and CD
